Saturn 3 (Stanley Donen, 1980): A Cult Movie Tuesday Film Review

Hey Gang! Today on the channel I'm talking about the 1980 sci-fi thriller "Saturn 3"! This film is very low budget feeling though it did have a substantial budget for the time it was made. I love this movie! It's one of my favorites. Sure, it's cheesy but as you said it does get creepy. Even with a decent budget, I suppose they still had to stretch their money and it only goes so far. I love that robot. OK, so he does have an odd looking head but it doesn't bother me. Honestly, I can imagine if they tried to make the head more humanoid looking they probably would have messed it up. It's possible their budget didn't allow that anyway. Yes, Harvey Keitel's voice was largely dubbed over by British actor Roy Dotrice(one of the stars from the TV show Beauty and the Beast from the 80's). I have that very same edition of the DVD. 30 bucks from a "thrift store"!? Ouch! Fortunately I bought my copy brand new for at least half that eons ago. Anyway, it may not be perfect but I find it perfectly entertaining and I think it deserves more love.

Been a few decades since I've seen this one... Hector's head sorta reminded me of a Norelco electric razor That scene where he removes a tiny sliver from Farah's eye was pretty nifty.
