I"ve got a 1999 black Saturn SC2 low mileage and I love it, got the spoiler and sun roof and doesn't have the 3rd door thankfully, i think the 3rd door thing looked a bit awkward....but anyways it's a fun little cruiser, I like flying down the rural farm roads of Indiana in it, got it up to 126 MPH on a open stretch once...

I don't understand why the plastic body panel idea never caught on outside of GM. They were cheaper, lighter, and resisted dings and scratches MUCH better than traditional steel body panels. My Mom recalls visiting a Saturn dealership around 1991 or 1992 and the salesman jumped on a body panel displayed in the showroom to demonstrate the durability.

palebeachbum it did the 1993 -1995 Chrysler Concord Dodge Intrepid in Eagle Vision had Front plastic fenders but they shattered in freezing temperatures...

@peachyclean93 My Saturn was from Buffalo (Saturn of Clarence). Nothing is shattered after 28 years and no panels have ever been replaced. I do have a rot hole through the middle front area of my hood which might need to be addressed around the time I hit 300,000 miles.

Great little cars. By 1996 they really had the styling worked out. The beauty of these cars was their simplicity and in a world of endless fed govt THEFT thru money printing (inflation), operating cost is EVERYTHING. Great gas mileage, low insurance and cheap replacement parts. I wouldn't drive any other car right now.

The S series are great inexpensive little cars. Easy to fix and a good low mileage one can be had for around $1500.

Im on my second SL2 and would buy a third one too. Saturn was a great company BEFORE GM took over in 2007.

GM really just screwed the whole brand over.
@tylerr.6558 жыл бұрын
They didnt have their hand in saturns production besides watching over its production until later years. After 2007 the last 2 years they only released cars that were literal copies of other GM cars. In the early 90's GM had little say in what went on. When they finally took over completely they destroyed the company

These r great cars. At first they had alot of problems but gm worked it out and saturn became another great division of gm. I hate they closed along with the others

The union required GM to close Saturn as part of the bankruptcy deal that ended up with the union owning a big chunk of GM.
