After suffering two massive heart attacks, a by-pass surgery and two other surgeries, here the legend was, back to his pavilion after three long years of desperation to get back to work. He was permitted to shoot only indoors (which meant no location shooting), had to refrain himself from operating the camera himself now (which was actually a very tiring task), and the long period of illness had taken a toll on his health, reducing his weight to a great extent. Just before his illness, he had to bear the sudden and tragic loss of his dear friend and art director of majority of his films, Bangshi Chandragupta. We can only try hard to imagine how regal the situation used to be, when the King was in his best of health and spirits. Take a bow, Maharaja !!

Beyond that we cannot think. Our thinking stops. From here Satyajit Ray starts. He has changed the definition of cinema. He has gone beyond the concept of box office collection. Changed the definition of mainstream cinema.
