The Harmonium is not necessaritly my favorite Indian Classical instrument except when Tanmay Deochake plays it. Then it becomes heavenly. How very odd to me that it comes originally from my home country France, where I live currently.

These harmoniums are pain to the ears. Why on earth did we end up chosing this harsh sharp sounding instrument?
@Birdbussa Жыл бұрын
It’s mellow
@purandaremandars10 ай бұрын
I also feel sometimes that a sarangi or esraj lehra sounds much better than a harmonium one. Obviously these are not easy instruments to master. It is very interesting to see the decline/growth of popularity of a certain instrument. Harmonium has now gained an international fame as an Indian instrument. We should start promoting instruments like sarangi/esraj and as listeners should also start demanding these instruments on stage.

Zakir bhai is the inventor of newage body language of Tabla players...all new Tabla players are blindly following..
@ilovegurusahib2 жыл бұрын
What do you mean by blindly following? He earned that respect through humbleness. Unlike some of you guys.
@shrini042 жыл бұрын
@@ilovegurusahib this is about body language… if every next Tabla player is copying his style because of respect they have for him…then ok….though it is a weird way of showing the respect.

Was the harmonium guy a dancer before? He played such a basic alaap with his eyes closed while excessively embellishing one hand to try to fool the audience into thinking his harmonium music is interesting. I wish the good tablalchi got a better accompanist for nagma.
