Manual scavenging "is a caste-based occupation involving the removal of untreated human excreta from bucket toilets or pit latrines, that has been officially abolished by law in India as a dehumanizing practice" when I looked up the term "Manual scanvenging", I sadly found that even in the definition, it is used to explain as caste-based occupation. Besides, although it is said to have been *officially abolished* I still hear the practice moves on !!! so sad, there's no rule of law.

When I was in the eighth standard in school, I was in the Boy Scouts. In the name of camping, while some boys and ALL the girls were taken to some hill station to enjoy themselves, I and a bunch of other kids were made to clean the entire school's classrooms, windows and window panes, sweep and mop the school corridor floors and classroom floors. And this went on for an entire day. Although I was dead tired at the end of the day, today when I look back in hindsight, I think of myself as a more deserving Boy Scout than some of those who were enjoying their campfire in some cold and cosy atmosphere somewhere. P.S. Even my name served as no exception to that kind of treatment meted out to a thirteen year old. Yet, I felt proud about what I did that day and it is sheer hard physical toil and labour which has moulded me into this real hard hat today. I don't like anyone even touching my plates or glasses after I have finished eating and drinking out of them let alone cleaning my toilet. I am a self made and self served man and I am damn proud of it.

Be grounded. Do all of your own work using your own limbs. That is real education and enlightenment. Everything else acquired is just a dumb certificate.
