Confeitto is a Japanese panned candy (think Jordan almonds or jawbreakers) that look like stars. Revives in Pokemon games are based on them, too. They're adapted from a Portuguese import. Many Asian cultures top iced creations with syrups, etc. and some, like South Korean cuisine, will even layer them with sweet red bean paste. I also think that "pudding" ("purin" in Japanese) is, indeed a flan.

When I was in my late teens I got braces and I found that Bubblicious was the only gum I could chew that didn't stick to my braces. LOL I loved the grape flavoured kind.
