Most Dudes from Scandinavia are well spoken and respectful. Even the church burners and murder commiters are well spoken. Like Varg Vikernes. Think what you want about him. But he is very intelligent and well spoken. We Americans are the most rude and disrespectful assholes in this world. Personally I try to be like the Nordic in how I communicate

Satyr explained what originally was and meant to be black metal perfectly. It pisses me off when I read comments like "this is TRUE black metal" under some generic norsecore videos.

This man Satyr is one of the reasons why i love norwegian black metal music, a lot of people said they are overated, sellout and became mainstream.. for me they made a huge step into a world of mainstream trying to bring their career to the next step.. who thought that Black Metal can be associated with arts, back then is all about music, passion and rebellious.. and now everyone can listen to their music (still not everyone) but hey kudos to that..
@dougodyssey50

They didn't sell out. People are idiots. If a successful BM duo like them choose to play more rock oriented metal, they can do so. I have heard the very early stuff from Satyricon and it's heavy but it sounds similar to other bands. Satyricon innovated later and that's fine. And to hell with insecure little Euronymous and his type, judging people's work.

Loved hearing his historical journey as a fan & how he’s still exploring flavors that feel warm & tasty. On how his artistic vision changed metal. I’m fortunate to have been born in 68 with a sister 12 years my elder. Inside our family my fathers side were musicians as far back in ancestry as could be remembered. Third generation Norwegian & Swedish decent hearing metal from both areas drew me back to familiar folk tunes I’d heard during childhood around camp fires or during holidays. Thanx for a lil time travel 🤘🤘

The humour in darkness question is a good one. The fact most black metal bands aren’t ironic is hilarious. Like y’all in bullet belts and armour with swords and flails and face paint and you never once thought, hey this isn’t kinda weird isn’t it 😂 Also a lot of black metal lyricism is very surface level edginess. Ofcourse there’s fantastic BM lyricists out there but a lot of BM Is hilarious. I’m not mocking BM as a whole though. I make and respect BM, it’s just sometimes you gotta step back and not take yourself so seriously. Laugh ffs 😂

Man, I was turned on to underground Thrash/Hardcore scene at 15 in '86. By around '90 I heard Sepultura for 1st time & thought, this is the future. Then everything I heard, including new Sepultura ALL SOUNDED THE SAME!!! If y'all enjoy, IS ALL THAT MATTERS, but I couldn't tell you one Thrash ("Death Metal") band from the other for last 32 years! The Us Festivals in the '80's promoting a new product called the personal computer, & the black community pawning their handed down instruments for a different kind of rock, & beating on lunch tables instead (later looping artificial "music") & making fart noises while jiving street slang, really fukd us all up!!! Rap makes Disco look like Mozart! SMGDMFH! 🤘😔❤

Euronymous would not go down in history , unless Varg stabbed the fuck out of him....unless you think when Dead died and the idiot took his picture and it ended up on that bootleg....that actually puts Euronymous as an asshole !!!!.....I would say that Varg and Burzum were the biggest influence !!!, of this starting in Black Metal.......

Satyr was there, he knew Euronymous and turned to black metal because of Euronymous, like all major black metal bands, so he knows what he's saying. The whole Norwegian BM was due to Euronymous. And what is an asshole compared to an arsonist, attention whore and murderer? Mayhem was the band that travelled to Europe, created a network and spread the black metal ideology until it became the genre we know today. Varg was just a follower, who copied a lot from '80s black metal bands sound wise and image wise (Quorthon would like a word on that), and burned some churches. Without Euronymous, there would not have been a Norwegian scene.

Wrong about Euronymous not going down in (metal) history as many bands from Emperor to Dissection dedicated albums to him and his influence, with the former even using one of his riffs. Right about Varg/Burzum being arguably the biggest influence on black metal going forward, but you won't hear about that on this channel or really any mainstream entertainment media platform due to them putting politics over art.
