So what I’ve seen, researched before, and also with a spiritual friend advice if you go to a haunted place you have to tell the spirits that they aren’t allowed to follow you home and they are not invited. Then do whatever prayer of your belief to not allow spirits or bad energy to follow which then should help you not bring ghosts home. Eddie seemed to be more spiritual than the rest of the boys so with his spirituality it could’ve followed him home feeding on his energy. Making him a better victim of a haunting. I hope when he moves he tells the spirit it’s not welcome in his new home. I believe in the supernatural but I’m also logical.

The eyes take away from the horror of Nyctophobia. Fear of the dark is spurred by the fear of an emptiness that you can't see, and the possibility that something can be inside it. The eyes remove the mystery and make the dark less empty. That being said, people who have scopophobia, or fear of being watched would find the ending unnerving.

15:26 I live out in the middle of nowhere, and I can confirm those are coyotes, not skin walkers. As long as you yell at them they usually stop. Coyotes, despite what you may believe, are the jumpiest animals ever, they will run away from anything that sounds slightly dominant.
