In the neighborhood we went trick or treating as kids, there was always this one house that went all out. The man of the house would dress up as a scarecrow and lay on a lawn chair, with other stuffed scarecrows on other lawn chairs. He would lay perfectly still until you got close, and then he'd sit up and scare the shit out of the kids. My younger brothers would cry and run away, and refuse to go back, but I loved being scared, so I would go right up to him and he'd grab my arm. It was good clean scary fun for Halloween.

Nah, 12:50. My mum due to disability has to get up at night regularly to move around or she seizes up. She hears so many bumps, knocks and whispers at night (but, how when she is severely hearing impaired?) And she sees shadows moving around, so she has started walking around the hallways with a 4500 lumen torch. I remember one time it's just mum and myself alone in the house we're in the kitchen, and we're preparing dinner. I'm digging around in the freezer and I hear a thud like someone upstairs has jumped out of bed. She looks at me, and I look at her. We just stand staring at each other in silence then we hear someone rush for the stairs, so I rush to see and as I start to climb the noises stop. I thought she was going crazy, no lie.
