Timebase PPQ being low can prevent you from doing some of the really fast hi-hat rolls

You also could change your sample rate if everything else is unavoidable. Like for example I use 192000hz for recording midi and voice because there's much less delay with that sample rate, but when I'm done recording, I go back to 48000hz since I don't record anymore and I get to unload my CPU.

no problem for 2 icons, when you open fl studio in the menu go to about and you'll see what version you opened, just choose the other if you open the wrong version

If you don’t record anything live, as in, you don’t do vocals, you don’t use a midi keyboard, etc… Max that mf buffer out. You’ll learn to live with the latency and your CPU will thank you long term. If you DO record live, set it to the lowest your PC can handle consistently

I had a problem with the cracking, so I increased the buffer length. and it fixed the problem. but then that makes an entirely new problem, it now runs slow as hell. and it was working fine before at 512 so I don't know what happened. and I have a good enough computer where its not the CPU that's the problem because it happens even with just one instrument open and playing. help!

changing the ppq will ruin existing projects, by causing the samples to snap to the nearest snapable point, ruining your timing / slices. FYI, not a good idea to change.

I think it has to do with buffer length The more you put, the less you lag but you get some delay from it

On your mixer there is a tiny clock it should be able to increase or decrease the latency in samples or milliseconds try adjusting it
