I've heard that Mitch still feels insecure about his own voice, because of the bullying he suffered in high school. Unfortunately, I find that easy to believe; that kind of insecurity can run *very* deep. Mitch came straight from that nightmare into the pressure cooker of _The Sing-Off,_ where the producers proceeded to do *the same thing* to him, trying to suppress his upper range because they thought it was effeminate and might lead to the revelation that he's gay. Never mind that everyone else in PTX (including Avi, BTW) says that they'd love to have Mitch's voice, and never mind what the judges had to say after his solo on the 12th performance - there's something in the normal human psyche that tends to discount praise and internalize shame.

Both hilarious and fantastic! #9 is part of the PopSpring Concert (4 songs) like you recognized . Mitch was ON that night. #8 Take on Me - that low note on ‘take’ was Mitch! His range is on full display there. #7 is Gold. Mitch and Avi are mind blowing. #6 is Guy.exe from Superfruit. Hilarious!!!!! His videos are the best quality and include the judge's comments. 7. (forgot this one) The Star Wars Tribute (2015 AMA Awards) Footnotes: Mitch has performed Bohemian Rhapsody live without a megaphone and can still duplicate the guitar solo. I swear his vocal chords have built-in reverb. Sony is absolutely rabid about blocking PTX reaction videos. We all hate them for it. Mitch, Scott, and Kirstie were only 19 when they were on The Sing Off. Mitch missed his high school graduation for the audition. Kevin was the oldest at 22-23. So yes, they were babies. It's so fun to watch all their videos and see how they've grown in the past decade. Additional footnote: Everyone keeps saying that all of PTX, and especially Mitch, is either angel or alien. I'm pretty sure they're fae. But whatever they are, guaranteed it's not 100% human.

I’ve watched a ton of reactors do the Sing Off series, so it shouldn’t get blocked. They are VERY raw in the first few performances but it’s really amazing to see their progression over the series. Definitely worth watching the unpolished songs to get to the moment they know they have something special.

When I saw this pop up in my feed, I laughed and clapped gleefully. "Oh, this will be fun" I said. Then I thought --- you are a very brave man. Not sure if you had even recovered from your full day of PTX immersion, and even their solo work, and you decided to do Mitch Grassi 13 Shooketh Moments!!! You are brave indeed. Well done you! Yay....you recognized Popspring "Can't Sleep Love" - looking forward to you doing that one - please do the studio version first, back-to-back would be fun. Your facial expression, "oh no" and grabbing your blue-haired-unicorn-helmet in "Take On Me" was priceless as you knew Mitch was going to climb those octaves right to the top. I hope that you recognized that the bass note on the word "Take" was also Mitch. He has a wide range and a smooth lower register in addition to the high piercing notes. At #7 that is the cover of "Gold" with Mitch and his vocal slides. Definitely you need to watch that one too, the original is with synthesized instruments and what PTX does as A Capella is phenomenal. At #5 is Chandelier from the episode of Bones. The only thing better than watching Mitch sing is watching Mitch sing AND dance. #4 Hallelujah was also the first PTX music video that I saw, it grabbed me hook, line and sinker, and here I am today, down the rabbit hole, following reactors who follow them!! # 3...WAIT ....You have not seen that one - not yet reacted to Bohemian Rhapsody?!?!? 1st of all - your 'mitch-slapped' face is hi-LAR-I-IOUS in every video, I've really been enjoying your reactions to the epic group known as Pentatonix. If you really want your face to melt (a la Raiders of the Lost Ark) - if none of your other watchers/followers have recommended him - Dimash Kudaibergen. Specifically, his performance of SOS at the Slavic Bazaar (his best performance of that song, IMHO). Going back to PTX - 99% of their performances on The Sing Off are *chef's kiss* - the one shown in this mix is performance 12, The Dog Days are Over (Florence and the Machine cover). The arrangement is reeeeeDICulously good and of course Mitch shines like the diamond that he is.

Great reaction! Scientist Mitch clip is a taste of Superfruit's original album Future Friends. Their evolution and album mash up covers and 'funny' song covers are amazing too, but the originals are my favourites. I made a playlist of mrduckbear's videos of the Sing Off if it helps. I just wanted them all in one place in the right order! His videos seem to be the ones most people react to and each of his videos include the intro before and the judges comments after. Since most everyone has answered your question about which song it was you were wondering about I won't. However, you wondered if their performances from the Sing Off were still around, and in a form that wouldn't get taken down. I believe they are. If memory serves, and it might not, all things considered, there are several versions of them. Were it me I would look for the ones that include the judges comments after the performances. They tend to be the most fun. Watching how things all started for our kids is always special. They were so young, so new to one another. They came out of the gate like a shot, and never looked back, despite the odd stumble now and then.

You should definitely watch their inception on The Sing-Off. All of the performances are on KZbin. Their first performance was actually their first EVER live performance as a 5 person group 👌

I am subscribed and subbed after your first PTX video reaction. Avi reacted to your video!!! AWESOME! Yes.....it's "Gold" by Kiiara, but do yourself a favor and listen to the first 30 sec. of Kiiara's version. It'll really make you appreciate this one. Kiiara uses technology to make her voice sound the way it does. Mitch does it organically. Mitch is doing an electric guitar solo with the megaphone. YES. YES. YES! React to the "Sing Off" performances. Love it!
