Western analysts are confident with dollar dominance because there are not optimal replacement (no Euro, no Yuan...). But the point is: there is no need for the replacement. The Global South will use local currencies as well as CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency). No need for dollar/euro and SWIFT system.

Just to clarify, SWIFT is a messaging system. No value is settled using the SWIFT network. It took 20 years for the Dollar to replace the British Pound. Yes, BRICS is coming but the hard work of building a system for moving and settling value still remains.

It’s not game over because of anything Saudi Arabia has done. The Petro Dollar was created when the US imported the majority of its oil and needed to pay in dollars. The US currently exports refined oil products. The US does not need Saudi oil. Basically the dollar is now paying for American oil and gas within its territory and oil companies.

Child, Saudi Arabia knows that oil 's days are numbered and that it needs to diversify anyway. Second, the whole world has been talking about dethroning the dollar for decades, especially since 2008---what are they going to use? The euro, pound? Lol. When you represent a full 25% of the WORLD's economy, your currency is pretty important. We don't have to malign or debase America in order to raise the continent. :)
