GLOBAL STRIKE • Dec. 9-13 2024 • WITHHOLD YOUR LABOR • This is a call out to every organizer in every local community, every poet, everyone interested in providing mutual aid, everyone interested in arranging teach-ins, sit-ins, actions… If you don’t like the direction the world is heading, stop it. Take part in a global reset. WITHHOLD YOUR LABOR for 5 consecutive business days. In solidarity with the call for Global Escalation Nov. 27-29 ( @in.war.ds )we are escalating by calling for a GLOBAL STRIKE Dec. 9-13 for the people to be reminded of their power & for the ruling class to be reminded that they cannot take our labor, nor our concerns, for granted. In solidarity with those under the gun in Palestine & Lebanon, those running & fighting for their lives in Sudan, those in & around the mines in the Congo, those fighting corruption in Kenya, Nigeria & the world at large, those struggling to put food on the table - even in countries like the US where the fight for minimum wage & healthcare has been practically abandoned while slave labor, Cop Cities, homelessness continue to rise & vulnerable communities continue to be sacrificed, those in US prisons who make up the majority of prisoners in the world -in a so-called “Land of the Free” & for all political prisoners- who have fought for indigenous sovereignty, an end to apartheid, an end to the plundering of natural resources, a sustainable approach to climate emergency, the rights of workers, the rights of women, care for the disabled, the education of our children, the fight against fascism & the unity of all fields. Regardless of political bent - stand in solidarity to say we cannot depend on our governments to do what we ourselves must do. Stop the machines. And if we cannot convince workers to take time off then maybe it’s our job to provide the time off by stopping the machines ourselves. WITHHOLD YOUR LABOR Dec. 9-13 • Lay the the groundwork for the year ahead. Make your list of demands. Leave no disenfranchised groups behind. *see End of Empire keynote speech Parts 1 & 2 in pinned posts for more thoughts on the why & how. instagram.com/p/DCUqRo8TjOa/?img_index=1 facebook.com/saulwilliams/posts/pfbid027Ej4ajVRoZCzrWZELC6Zc2Lj8v3nXWEzrtQy2NS3TDnuxMGkgySdE9V9rtVX29CPl "to organize pessimism means nothing other than to expel moral metaphor from politics and to discover in political action a sphere reserved one hundred percent for images. @edwardsimmonds521 Untrue. Black people have had to be smarter and more aware than y t people, just like women are smarter and better at everything than men because of Patriarchy and White Supremacy, which are the same, so boring, wherever you go. What I admire about this man is his consistency. Many celebrities comprise themselves but there are a handful of Artists who remain steadfast and on their purpose. I encourage you to connect to the Source and do your inner work and realize we're Divine beings in human flesh. I have to often remind myself of that to remember the Power that we possess. Let's be the change we want to be. Politicians will do political shit. They're not our God's or saviors.

@SuperlunarNim7 күн бұрын
@@Salamander_falls Yes, but our goal is not to communicate with the ruling class, it's to reclaim our humanity and our human instincts, and in doing so rob them of the power they have over us. If we can all agree amongst ourselves that a poet has value to us communally not because they provide some economic benefit, but because they are a human being and they enrich our lives, if we agree that that alone is justification enough for a life and dignity, then we don't need the ruling class because it means we can look out for eachother. We can carry eachother, it's the natural human way that they've made us forget, all so that we can be divided and made to compete against one another.

Thanks for sharing Saul's presentation and thanks to Saul for his efforts over the years. At around 1:55, Saul "... the ruling class is willing to kill...". Too easily. I comprehend what he means when, before that, he says, "... you have to be willing to die for your cause." The thing is, with the ruling class being so willing to kill AND the fact that they are not a minority... say 40% (maybe a little more) of the population, the willingness to die on behalf of the resistance and the willingness, and ease with which, the ruling class would kill the resistance, wipes out the resistance. I want to have the conviction to die for my cause, but I don't want to die. This is a painful (and paradoxical?) realization for many, I suspect. It is for me. We do have to be dedicated, I agree.
