Ryzen takes more consumption of electricity as compared to intel , and ultimately results in more heat generation .... So yeah intel will put to to an advantage... But remember intel is costlier than the Ryzen AMD processors

Or you can teach like this. One core = one hand, and one thread = one finger. So the way a single hand has its fingers to diversify the work which the hand has to do, similarly, a core also has its threads to diversify the work which the core has to do. Thus, the way work load is divided into multiple cores in the processor, that same work load is further sub-divided into multiple threads in the very processor. This way, it will be easier to understand for a newbie.
