These wickets were shown one by one and dada, a slow medium pacer taking wickets... People couldn't digest... Guys listen first of all ganguly was new bowler in that series and pak batsmen thought to launch attack on him...and miscalculated like typical Pakistanis... So appreciate dada for seizing the opportunity... Dont judge him by today's 140kmph standards... Speed isn't the only criteria otherwise player like Umesh Yadav wouldn't be sitting outside the team... I was a kid then but a diehard cricket fan... Me and my father used to watch all these kinda late night matches... Mostly i used to sleep the moment india started performing badly...but he used to be patient all throughout.... Very optimistic :)... This match too he woke me up after Pakistan lost their 8th wicket... I was kicking myself for missing the comeback phase... But now time's changed... He doesn't stay till late and even i cannot sit in front of tv all night... I use my cell phone for constant updates... I feel the matches lack the kick it had back then... Those really were the heyday of cricket and the best days of my life........

This was the time when ESPN recently started broadcasting the matches and our cable operator didn’t have the decoder for the channel. I remember he collected 100 rs from his customers and i used to wait eagerly when the channel would show up but he failed to get the decoder and i missed the live matches. The series consisted of 5 ODIs, and all the matches were played in daylight. Pakistan won the first series 3-2 in 1996. India won 4-1 in 1997. Pakistan again won 4-1 in 1998. A total of 15 matches were played over a span of 3 years. Pakistan have been more successful amongst the two, with a total of 8 victories. India have 7 victories.
