Whilst Hell Creek is heavily represented in paleomedia, I love how much attention the shear diversity and oddities of Hell Creek are getting beyond T-rex, Triceratops, and Edmontosaurus.

You should have a look at the Minecraft mod “prehistoric nature” it has over 800 prehistoric animals from the pre-cambrian all the way to the Jurassic at the moment the Jurassic is still being worked on so yea but they are going until the present day the creatures are as accurate as they can be within the restrictions of Minecraft and they will update animals and there models if new research comes out on them with noticeable differences

The Saurian Fieldguide art book is often referred to as the grand bible of paleoart, therefore I would like more similar books on different formations because focusing on one formation limits paleoart too much in my opinion, even though the Saurian book is good because it tells what dinosaurs, other animals and plants belonged to the paleobiota of Hell Creek formation. And I hope for more similar books also because for me all formations are equally important and equal and none of them are better or superior compared to others.

I have this book myself and it’s easily one of my favorites too, and I really enjoy everything that it shows, for me the only way to make it better is if it had more cool art scenes around the end of the book, and if they showed the beautiful concept art for Alamosaurus, they showed the concept art for Leptoceratops so they totally could’ve at least showed the concept art for Alamosaurus just for fun, and of course even better albeit pretty much impossible & unrealistic to accomplish, is if they actually went back in time to gather all of the info to make it even more accurate than it already is so it could live up to its full potential.

@JPOG7TV6 ай бұрын
The game has basically been shelved. One of the leads was caught secretly stealing money from the kickstarter and it was settled with everyone on the project moving onto other work. Don't bother asking them why they gave up or the fact they scammed us, they'll block you on social media to prevent any more deserved scrutiny.

@DinoGuy86 ай бұрын
Oh it’s up there. Crocodilians. As a whole need to be shown from time to time.
@Azureblue256 ай бұрын
@@gattycroc8073For sure although I think Borealosuchus would be even cooler than it already is if we found a specimen that was similar in size to Deinosuchus or maybe a little smaller but still huge like Thoracosaurus, after all there needs to be a large semi aquatic predator in Hell Creek that doesn’t have a jaw shaped like a Gharial which is more designed for catching fish as opposed to land animals, so now Hell Creek needs one with the Alligator/Crocodile jaw shape which would be more useful for taking down dinosaurs, and the perfect animal to fit this niche would be a huge Borealosuchus that’s similar in size to Thoracosaurus or even close to the size of Deinosuchus, and I can’t wait until that gets discovered, although I have heard that a fragmentary fossil of a giant Crocodilian was discovered in Hell Creek which might not be a Thoracosaurus so that’s exciting, I also hope that more fossil material for Dakotaraptor gets discovered, as well as a larger Ankylosaurus fossil, a possible Hell Creek Alamosaurus fossil, and maybe even an undiscovered giant Hell Creek Therizinosaurid fossil (fossilized 4 toed footprints were discovered in Southeast Yellowstone National Park which date to the Maastrichtian could indicate that a Therizinosaurid was present in North America at the same time as Hell Creek, near the same location a tooth of a juvenile T. Rex was found too, and Yellowstone is not too far away from Hell Creek, because Yellowstone is in Northwest Wyoming, and one of Hell Creek’s Eastern most points is in Northeast Wyoming, a fossil for a Maastrichtian North American Therizinosaurid could be found any day now, if there was a Therizinosaurid discovered it could indicate that the reason why a Therizinosaurid wasn’t found in Hell Creek itself by now is because they prefer more inland regions, and Hell Creek itself is mostly close to the coast of the Western Interior Seaway, it’s possible that Ankylosaurus & Dakotaraptor may have preferred more inland regions as well which could be why fossils for them are rarely seen in the Hell Creek Formation). In fact Anky’s preference for more inland regions is even mentioned in the Saurian Book, I own a copy of the book myself.
@gattycroc80736 ай бұрын
@@DinoGuy8 I just love Borealosuchus because it is one of the few inhabitants of the formation that survived into the Cenozoic. not to mention it was basically the top predator in its environment after T rex died out.

Shame this book reminds me of the game. The development of the game has slowed to a crawl because one of the people working on it stole money from the project. Everybody has moved on from it as well. Very disappointing. RJ Palmer himself is extremely hostile when anyone asks him about the project or criticizes the fact he abandoned it. He said that they didn't want to repeat the mistakes of Mesozoica which was another failed kickstarter dino game. Oh the irony.

Was there any stegosaurid in the hell creek formation? Other than ankylosaurus
@hcollins99416 ай бұрын
@sprangles-ze1ox Well, considering that Ankylosaurus is not a Stegosaurid, then no there are no Stegosaurids at all in Hell Creek. There are a few Ankylosaurs, like Denversaurus & of course Ankylosaurus.
@GTSE20056 ай бұрын
Stegosaurs went extinct 100 million years ago, long before the end of the cretaceous
@Azureblue256 ай бұрын
Stegosaurids actually went totally extinct during the Early Cretaceous, with the last Stegosaurid species to ever exist believed to be Wuerhosaurus which lived in China during the Early Cretaceous, so there’s no evidence of them living in the Late Cretaceous at all, but on the plus side, Ankylosaurids & Nodosaurids were still around, and they got to coexist with Ceratopsians, Pachycephalosaurids, Hadrosaurids, Parksosaurids, Ornithomimids, Oviraptorids, Therizinosaurids & Titanosaurid Sauropods, & maybe even Iguanodontids but Hadrosaurids may have replaced them completely, so herbivore diversity was still at an all time high, the only major group that was notably missing were the Stegosaurids, it’s possible that Stegosaurids were the least adaptable out of the majorly unique groups of herbivorous dinosaurs, hence why they didn’t make it to the Late Cretaceous.
