SAVAGE 110 PREDATOR 22-250 LONG RANGE

I bought my Remington mod 700 in 22-250 cal over 50 years ago and enjoy and use it to this day. Flatest shooter I've ever owned. Never took a 600 yd. shot with it but you've just proven that its capable at that distance. Have taken many woodchucks at up to 300 yds in upper New York State and now using it on coyotes and wild hogs here in Texas. Enjoy it because its like a drug, once you start with it its very hard to put it down. Those ground squirrels don't stand a chance. Enjoy yours because mine has been my favorite for many years

WOW! Those things are fast ! I almost bought a 22-250, but I chose the .308 instead. I've never sighted it in. Shot it a few times on a new year's night(some 15/20 years ago. I think I wasted my money, gun ranges are hard to find !

awesome stuff! 22-250 is one of my favorite smaller critter rounds ( coyote ,pd,ground hogs) . i haven't started reloading for it yet ( its on my list to ad to my dillion 650) . from my Howa 24" heavy barrel i get nearly 4100fps from the hornady superformance 50gr vmax .

I have that same rifle being made for me by Savage right now. I had a 22-250 axis hunter that was a lemon. Damn near would pull a muscle everytime opening bolt after firing. Same with store bought or reloads. It shot very well though. One time called 2 coyotes, shoot one of them and was unable to open the bolt. Had to go to my truck and put a steel cheater bar over the bolt to get enough leverage to open the bolt. Sent it back to Savage. They FIXED it and then it wouldnt eject shells. Sent it back again, and told them dont send it back, could you get me the 110 Predator instead. They agreed to it. Even though it costs a couple hundred bucks more. Only thing is that it does not come in lefty like the other rifle. How did you polish the bolt?

Hello Eric. It all depends on what you will be shooting with the rifle. I have the Savage Predator 110 in 22-250 and it’s an absolute accuracy king. I’ve stretched it out to 600 yards, hitting a 4 inch steel target consistently. It has little to no recoil at all as well. I’ve see people take deer with this caliber, although I probably would keep that shot below 200 yards. I also have a Bergara B14 HMR Wilderness Camo in 6.5 Creedmoor. Also a laser but with a little more power and recoil. I’ve shot that one out past 1100 yards with great accuracy. I would not take a deer past 500 yards with that one. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with either. The only other considering factor is ammo availability. The 6.5 will have more options versus the 22-250. Hope this helps.

1 in 12 twist helps for sure wish they did a 1 in 7 you would be hitting the vitals way further out with heavier bullets
