What a superstar Bear is and props to you for doing so well with her.. as an adult pony rider myself (14.3hh/5ft8) it’s so refreshing to see! And I certainly don’t think you are too big for her at all! I don’t think anyone appreciates just how hard it is to ride ponies, short backed, bouncy, nothing in front and a personality that never matches their size, they’re a real challenge but I wouldn’t change my girl for the world! ❤

I’m not really offended because he’s not calling me it is just find it very weird that he would call any horse an it when he knows the sex? @katiek3507 When you teach as many horses as he does you understandably will mix up genders at somepoint and that tends to offend people more than calling horses "it". It's a common term in the industry when you see so many horses in a short period

I adore Rich. Truly. Thank you for sharing him with us he's such a treasure. I was snickering and grinning throughout. My students would love him because I lean into being a sarcastic and somewhat hard coach at times but always with humor, if you can't smile whole you're riding it's time to get off the horse is very much my belief. Humor with some tough love. Riders should be honest with themselves and their horses because a horse doesn't lie (Except at the feed bin then all bets are off). I'm sure you're working on Bears feed and all, she's just a pony and I swear ponies can get fat if they SEE food with their metabolisms. She'll get her figure back. You could see her getting tired here. I adore the dapples my goodness.
