this song is based on the medieval period during the Turkish invasion of the Romanian Principalities Moldavia and Wallachia they both fought bravely and Mercilessly with the Turks 2 of the most known heroes were the Voievodes Vlad ''Dracula'' Tepes of Wallachia and Stephen the Great of Moldavia they ruled around 1440-1450 up until 1470 for Vlad and 1504 for Stephen the Great.You should check them out these Rulers were awesome and respected by the turks even. For example Stephen the Great during the battle of Vaslui in 1475 he fought 100 000 turks with only 40 000 men and he won in that battle he was injured at the knee he won around 40 battle and lost only 1 ( obv there is more to that then I can simplify )

The melody is based on a russian song, can't remember which one. Another band, Ex Libris chose the same for their song "Motherland" of their trilogy on 3 Anns (Anne Boleyn, Anastasia Romanova (Where Motherland is the first song) and Anne Frank. I strongly recommend listing to at least Motherland (you will notice the similarity of the parts around 1 minute in... kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpXYpJSKo713q6s ). Awesome band, awesome singer, utterly underrated.

@@PerfectWorldLevelUp1 I think it’s based on an old national anthem. But I might be wrong there. I‘m not an expert on russian music 🤣

Not sure what song you're saying is based on, but.1 love Ex Libris and 2.Armata strigoi is pretty much based on the old Romanian states(Moldavia,Wallachia and Transylvania)history and folklore as you can hear through the song.

I've never found a Powerwolf guitar solo that didn't leave me flacid. Derivative and uninspiring playing. The rest is fun and fabulous!
