Bought my 2012 Inferno Orange Metallic convertible GS C6 three years ago when I turned 65.. has the mag ride and dual exhaust. Had motorcycles until the Vette, so my midlife crisis just a way of continuing to having some fun. Last year had it supercharged with a Vortex unit, full headers, and tune. Now I have more power than a ZR1, yet have a convertible for those nice days. 345s in the rear and she's a handful when your in it.. it's just a damn fun car! To me the C6 is just a classy chassis... enjoyed your video!

This was my car. Og engine dropped a valve as they were known for. To be fair this new engine was bored, sleeved and stroked to a 427ci. So it was still a 7.0 technically lol

As a proud owner of a velocity yellow 08' Z06 I will agree its an amazing car and value-wise really nothing comes close. I've owned 2 Z51 C6's and one GrandSport before I jumped to the Z06 and my only regret is that I didn't make the switch sooner. That LS7 just screams and revs so much quicker than the LS2 or LS3 and the extra power and reduced weight really make a difference.

As much as I would love the raw power of a 427 I gotta say I love having a removable roof. That's my only gripe with the Z06, I understand why they did it but still makes me sad lol. The Vortech Ti-Trim on my base model will have to suffice for now ;-)

I know these are fighting words but I love my C6Z. So much more planted than my 2013 mustang GT was. It’s such a purpose built track monster and it’s so amazing how it hooks on the drag strip. Even on the run flats, first time ever on a drag strip and as long as I kept it straight and worked the clutch decently the car just pulls and pulls and hooks.

This is the highest HP Vette ever made that I am aware of that is naturally aspirated and paired with a true manual transmission. THIS car is truly special and GM may never make anything like it ever again. I expect to see these cars going for over $100k used market in about 10 years. .....and sure as $H_T sounds a whole lot better than the c8.

I've always loved Z06's I started with a C-5 coupe (auto) then I bought 2 C-5 Z06 and modded them tastefully. Then the C-6 Z06 came out and I fell in love with that one, I currently have a 07 Z06 with extremely low miles that I have kept unmolested and it puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it. Best bang for the buck without a doubt, in fact it has appreciated since I bought it. love it!!!

And the main issues they have (connecting rod bearings etc) are down to driver neglect, where the vehicle is driven from cold etc. Admittedly they're not perfect, but when you're squeezing a lot of power from a relatively small displacement, it's gonna happen sometimes :/

C6 generation 997 generation Current GTR generation, lol Even some Mercedes and BMW of that time... (the f80 was dope!...), All modern classics IMO. A definite high point! While the Corvette has gotten better, it isn't more desirable (expect for maybe the c8, we'll see); same with Porsche. The 997 is the last desirable modern/water cooled Porsche imo. I think we'll look back at these car fondly in the next 10 to 20 years.

I've been in a C6 Z06 once. It belonged to a friend with a nice little stable. He also had a Lamborghini Gallardo, which was nowhere near as fast or as fun as his Z06. The Vette was chipped and pushing over 600hp. We drove it at Woodward Dream Cruise in Michigan. We (allegedly) smoked multiple Vipers and many other V8 bruisers whilst driving up and down Woodward. Every one of them was pissed off and dumbfounded. The C6 is incredibly underrated, especially with a couple thousand $$ in upgrades.

I have a bone stock 2009 silver Z06 and man do I love this car. Even after almost 5 years of ownership I still smile every time I park and walk away (almost). The 7 liter engine, the 6 speed manual, the timeless classic design, the light weight, the super wide tires, THAT EXHAUST NOTE!! the look one gets when they see this menacing wide beauty in there rear-view (or driving behind) is just a few reasons why I like it so much. Not to mention it's still worth almost what I paid for it in 2015. I know it has it flaws like anything else does but this car is very special.

I have a '13 427 vert and love the transmission/shifter/clutch setup on it (once I changed out the crap GM master cylinder). I keep thinking about modding it with maybe a H/C/I setup but every time I drive it I think I'm reminded of how nearly perfect it is stock. You can get 700 plus HP out of a built LS7. I did it to mine for $8500, all Texas speed parts and it fixes the valve problem. I also get 20MPG and it’s an absolute monster.

I've got an 2006 Nissan 350Z auto with 70K - It's in super nice condition and I've gone through with a fine tooth comb. I've really thought of supercharging which would take from 287hp to 412hp. The SC kit is over 7K and that would put well over 20K invested in the car including purchase price(7,600.00) I really like the C6, so I'm on the fence of selling the 350Z before I get too much deeper in it and just buying a C6 Z06.

Owned a 2006 Z06 for two years. Beautiful car the C6 Z06 is the best looking corvette. Unless you’re going fast it’s not a great place to spend a lot of time. Really Noisy powertrain, numb steering, stiff suspension, and the t56 is not a smooth gearbox but if I had the means to keep it just to look at it and drive it occasionally I definitely would have. If you can get a newer C6 Z06 with the magnetic ride and the tr6060. I know it’s heavier but if you want to put miles on it, they’re the ones to get.

Sweet, my son had a built 08 Z06, I was in that car at ooo mph, and it had more. Like honestly Fran of RPM had THE perfect ZR1 in my opinion and that car destroyed everything but like 1400hp GTRs... with like 860hp and no spray. I agree..........smog legal performance bang for the buck in CA. If I lived by a horsepower track I'd want a C7 ZR1 manual with extreme aero. But a mildly tuned one is plenty for our tracks in CA. Put a roll bar, seats and harnesses in it and go TT.
