HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
This is a story Jimbo generated in a past life, A story that has been sitting on the shelf for the last 2 years. He isn’t proud of it, but he knew it was worth sharing as it is relatable. It was a massive learning experience.
For speeding WAY over the posted speed limit, Jimbo, while driving his Loud old C5 corvette, got written multiple tickets for going 105mph in a 65mph zone.
Along with Jimbo’s story of recklessness, Hunter, new to the channel, also got a ticket a while back that changed the way he drove. He got a ticket for doing similar speeds while carrying something most wouldn’t… Regardless, he made it out simply because he was honest.
We decided to release this video today because of new year’s day being just around the corner. Please, be safe out there. Use Hunter and Jimbo as poster boys of what NOT to do.

That spot where Jimbo got lit up is a favorite cop "hang out" since 1993. I used to travel this road weekly when I was in the Army stationed at Ft. Meade, travelling back and forth towards Pottsville to visit my family. As soon as he mentioned the mile marker, I knew it. There's no escape.

It's like Ogden, Kansas that bordered Ft. Riley. The speed limit on base was 55 and it dropped to 30 at the gate and the locals would pull you over if you were 5 mph over when you left the base. It got to the point that the speed limit was reduced to 35 from 55 about a quarter of a mile before you leave the base.

On the Autobahn, if there is a speed limit, you can be pretty sure, you'll get ticketed if you're speeding. For example, normally if there is a section without a speed limit followed by a section with a speed limit, the first few kilometers (or miles) on the limited section is strongly monitored by so called "Blitzer" , which is an automated speed camera. If you're speeding, it can get very unpleasant. Not only you got to pay the fine, you also can get some points on your license. Too much points, you get a time out. If you're doing this shit over and over again, they're gonna take your drivers license until you have a proof for the authorities, that you're not longer a risk to the public. This is called MPU (medical and psychological examination), it will lead you to an assessment and will take a lot of time (in the course of months, up to years), because you have to do tests and psychological examinations and it's pretty expensive, too. IF you got all that, you could then go and beg to give you your license back. IF you get it back, even after all of that, you're on probation. Two years from now, every little mistake could lead to losing your license again. So yeah - we don't always have speed limits. But when we have, you better respect them.

Not a 7ft ticket, but my 'smarten the f**k up' moment came when I was pulled over doing 165km in a 100 ONE DAY before Ontario's stunt driving law came into effect (50km over = automatic 7 day dl suspension and car impound and if convicted, a few thousand in fines, 6 demerits, and possible jail time). I was honest and apologetic with the cop and he wrote me up for 49 over which was about $700. He said he gave me a break because I was respectful, it was my first time getting pulled over, and he couldn't believe a Chevy Optra could go that fast, especially by a chick.

Jimbo, I just want to say that I have been watching your videos since the C4 and C5 Vette days, and I always thought to myself that you were going to hurt yourself or someone else by the way you were driving. I am very glad that you had that "enlightened moment" wake up call. Mine was getting hauled to jail for doing 85 in a 55 in Georgia. Same thing happened to me except it was in my F-150. Nothing makes your butthole pucker like going sideways in an F-150 going going 100MPH. Didn't flip. Didn't hit anything. I don't know if this is better or worse but there wasn't even another car on the road that saw it happen. I sat on the side of the highway for about five minutes contemplating every choice I'd made in my life that led to that point and went on with my drive.

@@S-K69 Going between 55 & 60 on a somewhat unfamiliar paved country road. Come over a small hill and barely have enough time to go, "oh $h!t" before I'm into the water that's over the road. Car's starting to pull towards the 5ft ditch on my side of the road. Drifted down the center at 45 deg. with front end pointing into the abyss. Thankfully I'd put on new front tires a few days prior, there was no one else around & I was able to recover without filling my shorts. Definitely a wake up call.

I wish Being a new owner of a Mustang, I could let my short story be heard lol. 7 days after I was able to purchase a Mustang Gt, I floored it going under a bridge, while it was just slightly wet out... I made sure there was no vehicles in front or behind me by at least a few hundred feet in both directions. But yeah, I smashed it doing 65 , and I was surprised the wheels spun. Then traction control kicked in and in my Mustang that cuts power completely and TC decides to apply brakes to certain wheels i guess. Any ways, The wheels were spinning, the car cut the throttle and i was 2 lanes over before I even felt what was happening. I don't want to become a mustang owner that aims for crowds.... Im only glad I waited until I had a clear 360° from other drivers around myslef. Just always be safe, don't push your limits and always make sure if you are pushing your own limits no one else is around to injure, and do it in a safe place.

My reply is stupid but, it would of been over 1k and possible jail time. But the cop who paced me didn’t pull me over a cop at the exit when I went through the tolls. So the speeding and reckless got dropped in court. The only ones I had to pay were seat belts and cell phone. The other ones were fix it tickets. The wisest and most true statement that you said “at one point everyone gets a ticket or something happens that triggers that maybe this just isn’t worth it” as I’ve been through it since I wrecked my 2015 Cadillac ATS turbo luxury performance which was fast as hell and handed like a freaking dream I drove right off of a curve into a ditch and jumped a driveway over a bush and into the ditch on the other side with my two friends in the car injuring both of them but not a single thing happened to me.

I was going 95 in a 65 in a Jeep Wrangler that's supposed to top off at way less. (It might or might not have a supercharger). I was completely honest with the officer and definitely could've gotten a reckless if he felt like it and I can agree just respect the officer. Roll all your windows down, turn your car off and put the keys on the dash, hands on the steering wheels, and finally sir/ma'am your way out of it

I can't say how many times I've been passed by somebody doing mach 1 on the highway...to just pull up to them at a red light later, or better, see them on the side of the road with a cop behind them. That 5 minutes you saved isn't worth the ticket you might get or the person you hurt in an accident while driving stupid. A saying I learned while in the Marines. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. My moment of zen happened a few decades ago. I was street racing my car against a Porsche on a recently blacktopped road. It had rained earlier and the road had that slight oily slick stuff on it, because it had just been black topped a few days prior. I tried to take a turn way too fast. Tapped the brakes out of panic and got on top of the oily stuff...started to helicopter. Hit a curb and bounced my car a good 5+ up in the air and hit a pole broadside. My head went through the drivers side window. Luckily I only ended up with some small cuts and bruises. Ever since then. I don't do stupid shit in my car. I prefer to drive sports cars and the like, but I don't drive them like an idiot anymore.

Iv been pulled over five times and two of them i should have lost my licence. Lucky for me i have always been truthful with each officer and my story worked out every time and never got a single point on my licence. Thats really good going here in the UK

I am so jealous of your ticket amounts... I saw a $500 car on Craigslist and went and grabbed it... And drove it home. I got pulled over on my way home. Driving an unregistered vehicle and driving without insurance. $2500 for just those two tickets... For buying a $500 car... And 1 year license suspension. Arizona is expensive with tickets... 9:42 my "it's not worth it" moment was when I got pulled over for 83 in a 45. I luckily was slowing down and saw him and hit the brakes to cut a little speed off, because I was doing about 120. Was doing just a fun little pull to show off to a friend who was beside me. Had a 2008 infiniti G37 coupe and was just having some fun. Same thing happened where he had his lights on before I even passed him, so I just pulled right into a parking lot and stopped and waited. Luckily the cop was super cool and he said that since I pulled right over for him, and that he could tell I was just being young and having fun, he would help me out a little. Didn't write me up for racing, or anything like that, and also knocked the reckless driving off. Ended up just being a $160 ticket and 4 points on my license. Ever since then, even though I now own a slightly modified 2011 E63 AMG, I don't drive like that as I knew it could have been much worse.

So my second Ticket was in VA, I had a 1986 Pontiac Fiero, I was on a 45 going 70. I was on these beautiful S curves, 3am warm summer night with no humidity. I started to slow down as I got towards the end of the bridge. So I was going somewhere in the 60s. I saw the cop and I just pulled over. He hadn’t even turned on his lights and I just pulled over. He asked why I stop and I straight said “You’re giving me a speeding ticket right?” He wrote my ticket it 12 over the 45mph. Thank god for that cop. I knew I shouldn’t have been doing that fast. 3am no one was on the road but me, and that cop.

sheessshh this makes me happy because i got stopped going 110 on a 55 on the 78 with an expired reg. he was gonna give me "reckless driving," speeding and the reg. got off with the officer dropping the charges to 65 on a 55 , "fail to use signal" and the reg.

You get a slap on the wrist minus the fees. I get to wear a GPS tracker on my ankle to monitor my speed for 103 in a 65, along with paying $375 for that tracker. 30 days of being tracked, and if I violate the speed limit I go to jail for 30 days, license suspended, and an $800 fine. Luckily I am retired and don’t have to drive for 30 days thanks to my wife.

I also got a ticket in Center Twp, Pennsylvania in my 1989 Plymouth Grand Voyager (that I paid $1 for) for 84 in a 55 and I was on the phone in the passing lane. He wrote me up for 29 mph over the speed limit. I took it to court for speedometer accuracy and I was cited for 17 mph over.

Reminds me of the one good encounter with the Oregon State police I've had. I was probably 17 or 18 I was in a 1995 Taurus Sedan (Just a normal one, not a SHO) coming down what we call 'Roberts' Mountain'. It was a dry day, i was passing cars, but I wasn't tailgating. I just took my feet off both pedals and guided the car through the corners. I round the last corner of a series of 5 curves pointed down hill, there's a cutout in the median -- Guess who's waiting at the bottom? I looked at my dials the instant I saw him waiting -- Dials said 83. I'm on the one road with the highest speed limit in the entire state -- I5, Douglas County -- 65 is the highest the entire state allows for, even today. I immediately backed it off to 65 and dipped into the right lane, and as soon as I pass him by, I look in the mirror and he's leaving his spot. At that point I think to myself: yep, busted -- Here's your first ticket. I waited for him to catch up and didn't dive off until he lit me up. he asked me why I was going so fast and I was straight with him: I wasn't looking at the dials, just letting the car do its thing. He clocked me at 81. No. Ticket. Not even a written warning. Just a verbal. Before I could be back in gear, he was gone again -- Pretty sure a more important situation saved me from a nice fat ticket. Since then, I've been stopped for my speed TWO other times -- Once because 56 in a 45 where the speed limit increases to 55, i just wasn't at the sign yet - No cite, still. Just a verbal again. and again Illigitimately by a city cop in a town I have some problems with -- Including some cops nearly hitting my vehicle and hitting me with BS Fines and charges resulting from a crash in a parking lot where another driver failed to stop at a stop sign and struck me making a turn with no stop sign. I was given the Reckless driving, no signaling, and one other cite I couldn't shake. Even with video. Not only did it total out two cars, I got stuck with 5 cites (two of which were dismissed) and the fault by insurance even though I didn't have to yield right of way. One of 3 reasons I have to strongly dislike the police in that specific town. The cops in MY town, on the other hand, the most recent to stop me for my speed, work with me and i work with them. More than once has my dash cam helped them in different investigations. OH, and one more, I was pulled over on my bike by another home-city cop wondering where the hell I got my lights because he'd never once seen a bicycle with turn signals. To this day, No other cycles in the county that I have ever seen had turn signals. I still have the light kit, but the brackets were on a bike that got stolen about 6 years ago, so I haven't been able to use them since. I'm working on having new brackets made since the manufacturer for that light kit went black.

I remember my big fine, been driving on the same road 2 days in a row no cops, the 3rd day I came over the crest and boom cop sitting in the bush i look at my speedo 139 in a 110... so nice 6 points and $1000 fine
