I’m an old metal detectorist from Scotland, now living in Australia, I used to use a "whites coinmaster" back in the late 70s, everything manual, everything needed adjusting all the time, lol…constant ground balancing etc …but i found some good stuff as a young lad. I never found any gold in all the years I did it, but Scotland isn’t renowned for its massive nuggets, just its history. I’ve just retired so I might buy myself a good detector and give it a go. Trust me, gold is literally money, keep your identity secret, but most importantly never let slip where you go. I've been involved in finding a 30 toz patch before and the next weekend they are people everywhere in the area, why? KZbin and Facebook. I know it sounds shit, but when there is money involved people react in strange ways. I have some videos of a small patch I found and was totally thinking of going online until I realised that the location would be traceable due to the background. Stay safe online.

Happy for you! My biggest piece was 2.65 ounces found in Northern California. I was using a Fisher Gold Bug 2 the day before and I didn’t find it with the machine. I kind of Body Dowsed it the next day on the 4 th of July 1996. I was sluicing and when I walked past the crack it was in, I kept having a weird feeling. Finally I got a sledge hammer and broke the bedrock and found my biggest Gold Nugget. Oh What A Feeling ! Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Awesome Lee. Could not have happened to a better bloke. Charcoal at that depth is a sign of a camp fire 50 years ago or a bushfire hundreds of years ago. Im glad it was the latter.
