Savanna Safari Diary Episode 11

Another wrap up of some of our favourite sightings recently.
This episode includes:
A male cheetah.
Basile Female leopard and her 4-5 month old cub.
Painted Wolves chasing leopards.
Mhangene Pride of lions catching a Warthog.
Thamba Male Leopard.
Birmingham Coalition of male lions.
Pack of eight Painted Wolves/Wild Dogs.
Hyena cubs with their mother.

Okay, good. Everyone here is aware that the lion images are from days past, maybe even a week or more? If the "Birmingham males" and the PCs had a fight, this might've been before the PCs were seen--more recently, latest it seems--further northeast. So, this stuff might've been around the time the Mangheni cub was last seen, mid-September. Is everybody following? It's critical. So, either the "Birminghams" OR the PCs--take your pick--probably killed the last OM Mangheni cub. The cub was killed during the movements of the lions, before the "Birminghams" continued north to Ulusaba, and the PCs went northeast through Singita, probably seeking the Talamati females. I'm hoping against the odds that the last OM cub shows up alive. Also, the Ottawa pride was somewhere between Savanna and Dulini, or maybe in Dulini, when Sassy was grabbed by the neck and roughed up a bit. This was probably the "Birmingham males," since they were probably moving north past the Ottawas and into Ulusaba. The 3 Ottawa cubs are all alive and well, presumably still today, but they got pushed some distance away from Sassy.

I Wish tsalala joins mhangeni pride

It would be great if they could accept her, but .... I believe she remained in Londolozi while her adoptive "mom"/"auntie" returned westward to her pride. Interestingly, Ms. Tsalala and Ms. Mangheni could be actually half-sisters. Ms. Tsalala is the granddaughter of BB's tailed daughter with the Split Rock males, as far as I know. Ms. Mangheni here could be the daughter of the same mother, sired by either Kinky Tail or Mr. T Mapogo. If Ms. Mangheni is the daughter of BB herself, then she would be more of an "auntie" to Ms. Tsalala.

@@annettelane659 Thanks much. Some correction here, I had to draw it out. If Ms. Mangheni is the daughter of BB, she would be a "grand" aunt, great aunt to Ms. Tsalala, or from the "grandmother" generation. If Ms. Mangheni is the daughter of BB's tailed daughter, she would be an "aunt" to Ms. Tsalala, and HALF-SISTER to Ms. Tsalala's mother, who was murdered by the PC males last November. If Ms. Mangheni is the daughter of BB's tailless daughter, she would still be in the category of an aunt to Ms. Tsalala.

Lovely to see Basile and her beautiful little cub. My heart was in my mouth when the Painted Wolves arrived but all was good.... So it looks like Tsalala is on her own again, with the return of the Mhangeni lioness. Wishing the best for them all. Thank you for the updates and great vid as always.

The video mentions the Birmingham coalition already had a battle with the PC males? Can you please provide details about that?

it was back in early september, the Plains camp coalition came charging in deep into the western sector roaring and scent marking. Seems they were lookig for the Birmingham male Nhenha and NK male. They first found the Nkuhuma male alone and they chased him, then Nhenha came and tried to chase the 2 Plains camp boys but didnt last long and he got chased as well, it was presumed he got caught by the 2 males but somehow made a quick escape, then the Nk male came back looking for Nhenha. After this encounter Nhenha and NK male were seen further south in londolozi, away from their usual territory. So it seems that the Plains camp boys had driven them out, but they came back a couple days ago while the Plains camp coalition were in northern sabi sands

Me what worries me is that the sub adult female from Ottawa male is not with the rest of the pride, I hope to see a happy ending, it would be dramatic if she was no longer there, during more for one year the Mangheni pride lived like nomads to protect her...maybe the one (Mangheni) who was with the female Tsalala came back near her pride after Nhenha and Nkuhuma male was seen near where she was with the female Tsalala. They are a danger to her, if they realize she may be pregnant they could kill her, so she did well to get away from them (unfortunately they plan to go back west, not good for the Othawa pride)...I still hope (as I said before) that the female Tsalala could be accepted by the pride...

seems like it she hasnt been seen since the pride split a few weeks ago, if she was alive she would be with them
