This is the most intimate song I've ever written and recorded. This song is where my country side meets the rap side. Its time to introduce myself to the world. I'm really nervous about this one, but I really hope it helps someone who has experienced the same struggles. I Love Yall #Savages

Me and my old man love this girl and when I first heard this song I cried bc I can fully relate to this song. Us woman can make bad choices and even if we don't there r some bad men and stuff out there. We ALL just have to stay true to ourselves and stay strong, find someone we can confide in. I was in a all around abusive marriage up until a yr ago now and then I divorced him and got with the man of my dreams that I should have been with my whole life but kept blowing off bc I didn't want to ruin the friendship. I've new my old man now since I was 5. I am now 30 and he's 38. I messed my whole life up when I cuda had him the whole time and not went thru anything that I did but looking back on it all now I'm thankful for the experience bc I am stronger and he loves every inch of me and doesnt want me to change although I feel like a beach whale. He was there for me thru my grade 3 brain cancer maintenance chemo etc. I am blessed.

I just finally heard this song for the first time. This song was hidden like a gem. Once I heard this Savannah Dexter, I can relate to you on so many levels with this song. I still struggle with everything from physical abuse, to emotional, verbal and mental abuse. 4 years later I'm still struggling with it all even with the insecurities of not being good enough, thin enough or pretty enough. The struggle is real, and like you, I also remember everything and where I've been and who I was, to who I'm becoming now. I went from a drug addict and alcoholic mother and wife to a sober other and remarried to an amazing man who helps me thru the toughest days. ❤

Because they can't handle us at our strongest point so they break us down to the girl they think they want and when they realize it's not what they want, they drop us. @@MoneyStack1991 So not liking, which is just as much of an opinion as liking it is, makes someone a hater? Get real. The problem with Savannah is that her message is inconsistent. She brags about how unique and talented she is, yet feels the need to use her body to keep her audience's attention, following the exact same toxic recipe the rest of the genre uses. She speaks on being raped (not shaming here at all), yet has no issues dressing/dancing provocatively around hoardes of men in videos. I doubt she was "remembering everything" when she was flaunting her ass for views. She got evicted? Welcome to the struggle. But I doubt it's true. Bet if you look hard enough you'll find a 'premium snapchat' or a MyFreeCams account.

As a grown man that has seen first hand the abuses of parents and how people can start over from nothing and flourish into something so much greater, this song hits deep. Especially the line that says she is haunted by the old her... that.. oh that was felt. It's a reminder to keep going, to keep fighting and always stay true to yourself and never let anyone run your name through the mud and if they try, it's childs play. Growth doesnt just mean perosnal when people say get on my level. They mean, dont come at me at all like a fool. Respect me and I will respect you. This song speaks to me about learning to appreciate where I am, where I came from and to respect myself. I dig this song to the fullest. SAVANNAH DEXTER, can I adopt you, sis? I need more fam. lol. Hell of a song there sis. Life's a nightmare at times, and at times there is nothing better. When you can face your nightmares and look them in the eye, they can't terrorize you any more. Remember the people that love you unconditionally, they can't be replaced. Show the people that done you wrong, they only made you stronger and made you the woman you are today. They will have to answer for what they did to you, either here on earth or after. Keep doing what makes you happy, whether that means your single or in a relationship. I can gaurantee you will make more mistakes and wrong turns, but that's what makes us who we are to the people that love us unconditionally. I'm proud of you like a big brother would be. I love seeing you hustle with the realist artists in the game. Fuck the fame. Stay true to God and yourself, and let your name speak for itself. Money will come when it's time. God has blessed you in your worst times and that is reason to stand tall and hold your head high. No matter what happens with your music career, the friendships made with real, stand up, friends in your industry will carry you thru any situations you will one day face. You have a shit ton of people that got your back already, continue make your bros and sis' proud!

I have found that throughout life it is often the things that we think we want that bring the most destruction upon our lives, when we allow our hearts to be hardened by the things we experience in our lives and when we throw our hands up and say "Oh well, I don't care anymore..", that is when we are allowing our ourselves and our own souls to be destroyed, I learned the hard way. Remember where you came from and remember those who instilled in you everything they could to help you make it through this life, these is strength to be found there. Don't conform to that which you experience in your life, let the experience conform to you and learn from it. Don't let this world and the things of this life overcome you, but instead overcome the world. May God Bless You All.

Your comment reminds me of this song by Atlus called “If I Died Tonight”. Especially the first part it reminds me of a line in the song that says “pain just hits a little different when it’s pain you choose”.
