savatage has to be the most underrated metal band of the '80s into the early '90s. i knew the moment i heard jon's piano playing and singing, that unmistakable sound of savatage so well founded on brother criss' guitar work, and that astounding lyrical content, that this band MADE you sit up and pay attention. one only has to listen to trans siberian orchestra to hear the continuance of this colossal presence.

I have so much respect for Chris Caffery, and I think he is awesome. But, man.... I SO wish Criss Oliva was still around. He was truly a gifted musician. One of the rare players that could write a complete song. Nasty riffs, and superb solos with soul and feeling that were always a perfect fit. He deserves to be mentionsed along with greats such as Randy Rhoads, Van Halen, Dimebag, Zakk Wylde, Brian May, and David Gilmore.

One of the most beautful power ballads ever. I hope Savatage remains Savatage and not a lonley Jhon Oliva. Ofcourse in the memory of Chris. Whom we love and miss dearly. We love you guys. Adam Wagner Lol! Yes, Jon is the backbone of Savatage, TSO, & JOP. He has a great range, from that throaty growl to those high, crystal notes. He said Savatage will always exist in TSO, but I wish he'd get out on the stage & do at least a few numbers with them!

It saddens me to see it without criss oliva. But he lives on through the music. This song without a doubt is a heart wrencher. So beautifully and skillfully written like so many songs that Savatage had written. When Jon Oliva performs these it makes me wonder what he feels emotionally not seeing his brother there like he once did.

Wow he gave me chills live. If you guys ever saw the original line up you know what I mean. I was shocked when I heard about Chris. Savatage music was always very original. When he died there was no internet. So although I was already a fan (at the age of 10, thanks to older brothers) I had no idea what transpired. When I finally inherited all their albums (my brothers moved to other music) I played them incessantly. I understand you though and am happy that people born later on can appreciate them equally. It speaks volumes about the quality of their music.
