What is the procedure to apply for permission from USDA? Does the plant need to be inspected before it can reach US soil? Plz let me know the details. Thanks!

I had a couple of old roots and stems left over just sitting in a pot, which had been long since dead for about 7 + months. And honestly I didn't think it was going to do anything because these were very dead and very dry, they basically were just sticks at this point; but I had never really done anything like this before, and I thought I would give it a go. So I followed your advice and also added 90% of my hopes and dreams, then promptly accidentally forgot about them for a few weeks. So a few days ago, I go and pull them up and just to get rid of them and to free up some space in the pot for some tomatoes, and to my utter surprise, those dead stems had started to spring new tiny roots. I really do not remember what those stems and roots originally were, but I guess we will find out haha. That was just my little story so thank you for the amazing videos, they really help a lot. :)

Found the video very useful for the topic. Although you demonstrated everything, one point is left out. can a potted plant be revived when it is wilted, the stems are still green but roots are completely rotted due to over watering ?
@whoabrian5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the informative video! Greatly appreciated. I overwatered my plant and had to cut the stem down very short, and I also trimmed the roots that were mushy and brown. Would a grow light help you think? Thank you.

Thank you so much. I have (had) a lattice trunk Benjamin ficus. It has been having a difficult time since last year. Today I have taken it out the pot to have a look. It has lots of roots that appear medium brown in color. I cut through the top lattice and some of the trunks are dry and some are wet inside so to me it indicates the tree is still alive. I think the problem is the soil is not right for this tree so I am going out in an hour to buy ficus soil. Your video helped me to determine what to do. Have a great day and take care!

after coming home from a holiday, I found my 2 foot high lemon plant had all dried out. The stem and the root were still pliable though. My dad cut the stem down to to the last 3 inches, The soil was thick and wet so I removed it and added sand to make it light then re-potted it. I wish I had seen this video before, unfortunately it did not pop up in my search on 'how to revive my lemon plant', I only saw this video now while watching something else. I don't think its a good idea to expose the roots again after re potting it so recently. I should try the Epsom salt though. Thanks for the informative video

i bought a hibiscus plant full of flowers and green leaves about a foot tall from the soil, After a week all the leaves dried up almost completely. During this week the plant had about 8 hours of direct sunlight a day, summer temperature about 35 degrees celsius. I give it water every other day. Still leaves continued to dry up. Now i removed all the dead leaves and pruned to half size and put the pot away from direct sunshine but still plenty of light and still in warm temperature 4 feet back after window glass. In the garden i also have a 15 year old established hibiscus , it too has plenty of sunshine but is full of leaves after a leaveless winter. id like an urgent answer please before its too late. thank you.

I just purchased geranium ivy plant online. Took 12 days to reach me. What with the bad weather and pandemic situation...it took a heavy toll on my plant. It's potted in red soil and all the leaves are dead but the stem still appears green and the roots are somewhat healthy. Can't say much due to the wretched red soil stuck to them . I watched your video on how to repot a plant post arrival online...and have washed it well and placed in a succulent kind of well draining moisture retaining media containing mainly cocopeat -rice husk- sand- charcoal pieces- wood chips little compost and very little soil. ....and have watered once. Added antifungal powder as well as sprayed antifungal solution too on it. Have placed the pot in a bright shady area. What else do I need to do?. I have Epsom salt. Will geranium tolerate Epsom salt. ? My area is receiving good rains with temp currently around 24 degrees and 100 percent humidity. PlEase help.

Thank you very much for this video! I have an orange tree that I would like to save, I had it in an area where I kept forgetting to water it, and when I did bring it out of the area to try and revive it it only had about three or four leaves left, it was still green on the top area, but everything below that was dying. Now everything has turned brown, and I've checked down the stem and it's no longer green, do you think that it would still be alive and the roots or would it die within two to three weeks? Thank you very much for the informative video I love the scientific information! Make Jesus greatly bless you!

They cannot be absorbed by plant roots whether calcium tablets or magnesium, they exist in compound form and can be absorbed only in human digestive tract. One way is to add to compost bin and after decomposition it will be available for plant absorption.

I have a coffee bean plan - dieing or dead. All the leaves have fallen off and only the top of the stem is green but is going brown after being left near heater. Should I cut away everything and soak the roots or should I leave it a little longer to see if the green stem develops leaves? If I wait too long is it harder to revive it with hydrogen peroxide? Many thanks

Hi, do not cut off too much if it’s still green. Just some trimming or pruning of dead branches and keep in shade until new leaves arrive. You can water it with dilute hydrogen peroxide once or twice a week.
