Save Clontifleece Primary School

A campaign has been started in South Down to save Clontifleece school. The school was established in 1839 and is where many local children, from generation to generation, have had their primary education. It was recently proposed that the school would close in June 2013.
Many studies show that students perform better in small schools both in terms of academics as well as better attendance and increased participation in extracurricular activities. However, the economic downturn has had serious impact on resources resulting in the educational authorities having to assess viability.
