I rolled my eyes so hard when you suggested an inventory of the freezer and pantry. However I was wrong! I just took inventory of our deep freezer and fridge freezer and there was so many things that I did not know we had or purchased at the grocery store because I didn't know we had it! I also forgot about a ton of things that I purchased that fell to the bottom of the deep freezer. Now I have lots of ideas for snacks for my kids after school and for dinner. Thank you so much!

Hey, thanks for the code! I love the tips on saving. Cutting costs is an important step for financial freedom, getting out of debt, or simply having more money for the things we care most about.

In your 100 dollars do you include house hold items? Soap, shampoo, cleaner, toilet paper etc? Just curious we eat oranic as much as possible so its hard to get our cost down. They are getting more and more organic at my aldi now and im super excited! I try to stike a balance between health and cost but it can be so difficult.
@freedominabudget4 жыл бұрын
It typically doesn't include household items, the only thing I typically buy from that category is night cream (its my FAV), ziplocks and aluminum foil. Yes! I am so excited for their new organic products! Like I said in the video its a journey, slowly cut back on your budget overtime! You got this!

I have a family of seven and we spend about $250 each month on food. I make my own bread, butter, snacks..... grow tomatoes, lettuce and onions, occasionally other stuff. Buy stuff on sale and buy a big haul once a year. It's possible if you are frugal and think outside the box.

@freedominabudget3 жыл бұрын
That is a great point, Brianna! I would keep in mind the type of chicken that you are buying. Often if you buy free range chickens at a farm they will be higher priced. What I meant here is the whole frozen chickens that you can buy at the grocery store. :)
@briannadickson82053 жыл бұрын
@@freedominabudget thats what i meant ! the whole roasters at walmart are more expensive here. It confused me too when i moved to this area. it made no sense to me

I get rotisserie chicken for $5 $6cooked. You’re not paying for electricity or time to cook and clean it. Comes out just as cheap I think. But thanks for all the ideas. Great video!

I'm single, so its just me to cook for. That isn't a problem for me because I will make a couple big meals on Sunday and eat on them for dinner all week. Salad and yogurt for lunch. Only coffee for breakfast. Snacks are my problem. I budget 300 a month for food (including eating out once a week). I almost never spend that much...but now I'm trying to be more intentional about my spending. My goal is to get it down to 200. Gonna try Aldi.
@freedominabudget4 жыл бұрын
Yessss! That is an awesome goal for you!! I recommend watching this video before going to Aldi, it is a grocery store like no other! kzbin.info/www/bejne/rn2tZ4Wke7hro9U

Mine is difficult because, I have a rare condition (won't go into details), that doesn't allow me to eat most foods and whats left I can eat is not always healthy and is really expensive. But my grocery bill is bankrupting me because I am on disability.

Wow we can barely do 100 per person per WEEK. Were you able to do 200 a month when you were doing keto? We're spending so much on cheese lol.
@freedominabudget4 жыл бұрын
You got this! Yes, the $200 was still while doing keto, the first month it was about $250 to get some staples likes keto sauces and sweeteners but after that its been $200 a month.
@thevictoriagoogin4 жыл бұрын
🤣🤣🤣🤣 No that's not how you answer that question. I meal plan once a month for dinner! It saves me so much time & money. Bfast & Lunches are easy in our house. For a family of 3 I have it down to $400 month...I was doing $300 but it was just a little too stressful. And I buy stuff we need not just whatever sounds good in the store 🤣
@freedominabudget4 жыл бұрын
That's so awesome!! If $400 is more comfortable for your family and budget then thats awesome!! Great job!!

She is right and wrong about keeping it simple to save. Of course you can’t make fancy lasagna today and then switch to Asian food cause then you’ll spend a lot more. However, if you choose to stick to Italian food then you can buy the ingredients for it because the cuisine you’ll be cooking will revolve around similar ingredients. I try switching foods I cook every two months to not get bored but make banging dishes for cheap. No waste is key
