Aron, I had a superfish some years back now, and it did go wrong, but true to their conviction, I had a new replacement next day, including picking up the faulty one, so could not fault their after sales service, best wishes, Tony😀

I’ve been using the the rc super fish pumps for a few couple of years now, on my pond and my big aquarium systems, by far the low rated pumps I could find , great pumps and easy to use 👌

Some great information there pal, interesting stuff. We all get drawn to EA pumps or Oase, but why should we spend extra for pumps that use more wattage. 👍🏼👌🏼

This is some thing I have spent alot of time looking into like you I got s superfish pump they are more economical than ea pumps. What you will find none variable pumps are cheaper to run than varie flow pumps. Like you my 5000LPA pump runs on my skimmer. my main EA pump runs on the main filter system but the point is I run at 30 watts 1000 LPA on the ea pump my superfish pump (5000 varie )runs at around 23 watts at 2000LPA . However my jabeo pump which used to run on skimmer at 5000 LPA only used 22watts- none varie flow pump.

Great update mate I have a aquaforte 20000 on its lowest at 80w and my nexus runs a evo 10000 35% 32 w I’m guessing that’s not too bad

Your gravity fed Nate so will be much less watts anyway but then pumps still about 50% less to run on both

The Aquaforte pumps are better for head height or restrictions in the system but they do use more watts than the super fish. We have an Aquaforte DM verio 20,000 (not the "S" model) and on minimum settings it uses 42w on max it uses 190w but it is so powerful it runs are Draco drum Solum 25 dry (not completely dry) the water level is below the float switch and the drum can't operate ! So we use it at 90% 150w and the flow is still awesome but not insane. I do wonder if at 1M head height and some pipework restrictions (90° elbows) if our Aquaforte 20,000 on 90% 150w would out perform the superfish 20,000 at 100% 150w 🤔🤔🤔

Although brilliant i don't believe they pump as much water with pipe restrictions and 1M+ head height as the Aquaforte 20,000 but the Aquaforte (at least the one we have) uses 190w at 100% but is way better than the EA pumps. Given that the Aquaforte pumps are so expensive now more than EA and Superfish if it broke down we'd either get the pondXpert 20,000 wish has identical specifications and looks the same or we might just try a superfish 20,000 as im sure on 100% it will be pumping as much as our Aquaforte at 90% 150w but it would be very hard for us not to buy the PondXpert 20,000. Ps our Aquaforte gas been running 5 years now and the only thing we've had to do is replace a rubber ring 2 months ago £5.99 for pack of 10 and up until then we hadn't touched it not even to clean it out (drum filters are so good) anyway i know people who use the non RC superfish pumps and they've been brilliant !

Thank you for the taking the time to write that I will looking in more detail on head high comparison for my dads builds I only have the EA one I could compare it to and it’s half the watts for more flow timed filling the nexus and my setup there a lot of pipe to the pond

@@HumberKoi I'm sure for most people the superfish 20,000 would be the better option and like you say the time it took to fill the nexus for a lot less wattage but I'd be inclined to think the Aquaforte 20,000 (old model) which is identical to the PondXpert 20,000 would pump more water at 100% than the superfish 20,000 given the extra 40w of power but none of these pumps are actually pushing 20,000 because of pipework and head height, even with a gravity system where the pump is connected directly to the pond with zero head and very little pipework (no 90° bends) it would still not pump 20,000 because of the resistance of the pond water when the water from the pump hits the large volume of water in the pond it has to move that water out of the way (creating a current) which causes resistance on the pump !

I've used a few superfish products, can't fault them. I've spoken to the UK MD as I wanted to get a trade account with them but they only support bricks and mortar. And I get that. Price if energy, every saving is important
