hi guys, great video, the link between woodhall and the dambusters, was not r.a.f. conningsby but the fact that the petwood hotel is where the organisers of the raid went to discuss the details so they were away from the air base when it was discussed, and the raid flew out of r.a.f. scampton, but thats why the bouncing bomb is at the petwood hotel, if you want a great event to visit next year, woodhall spa has an amazing 1940s event, where as well as all the old vehicles, the soldiers dig themselves into the trenches in the wood and it really is a great event to see

I have happy memories of accompanying my husband to Woodhall spa on business trips. We stayed at the Petwood hotel. The 617 squadron were billeted there and some of the photos in there are interesting.

Hi Mark and Lisa and Chicco. Yes Woodhall spa is haunted at the base. Lincs is very haunted. Great seeing Lancaster. Chicco looked great in his globe. We visited mohne dam. You can see the bit repaired. It's huge huge. Just think a 5 ton lump of iron came bouncing along the lake at 60 feet release. Then boom. Something for 80 yrs ago. I saw one at the mohne dam. Surely if you have a Nectar card it will be worth filling up the van at a convenient Sainsburys fuel station and get more free shopping along your travels. Great viseo as always guys and I too love Butlers Empire who gave me the idea of getting our air fryer. As there is a plan to house migrants at the ex-RAF Conningsby airbase I do hope these little treasures of shops and villages remain unchanged. Take care both x

Hi you two. ( Mr and Mrs Northerner 😁) We were in Woodhall Spa a few weeks ago at the Kinema in the woods. We don’t live far from there. It’s a shame you didn’t go down and have a look. They have a lovely old Victorian Tea Room down there too. The main picture room as the old fashion organ that comes up through the floor on a stage, it’s beautiful…I had to laugh when you mentioned WSpoons. You were in one of the poshest towns in Lincolnshire. Very expensive to live there….Seeing the Lancaster is a treat…Take care. Colleen and Malc. X

While your that way maybe go to Coningsby air base they have a viewing area and people park there free overnight as well x The euro fighters fly from there and they fly right over you x my mum and dad use to live just up the road from there x we loved visiting because of the planes - Lancaster, spitfire,devotes, intercepters and more x
