Great video Hank! I'm sure it will help lots of people. One thing I'll leave here for Branson owners is to use OEM filters, specially the Hydraulic ones. The reason is that Branson uses hydraulic filters on the suction side of the pump and while aftermarket filters may have a check valve inside that prevents the pump from getting oil. There are several cases of burned hydraulic pumps due to not using the proper filters. While it looks the same on the outside, the filter can be different on the inside. Just one thing to keep in mind.

@@Hfoutdoorsyt Just as an aside, if Branson has a filter for which they are the only supplier, the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act requires them to supply the filter to non-commercial customers for free. Yeah, try and tell them that.

Don't own a Branson, but do own a Kawasaki! The big positive I get from doing my own maintenance is saving money, avoiding the drop off-pick up hastle, and I know it's done right. Much the same I'm sure with you and the Branson. Plus you save money. My personal experience is that when dealers do maintenance jobs on any machine, they sometimes rush the job as they are not big money makers...get them in, get them out fast to keep money rolling in. Sometimes things get overlooked, fluids not fully filled, drain bolts not properly torqued. As I said, do it yourself, know it's done properly. Love the channel btw.

Thanks for the videos! Here's a little trick I have learned changing the oil on all my vehicles over the years. You can use a gallon-sized ziplock bag around the filter when removing it to help keep the oil from spilling all over the place. I just break the filter loose with my pliers and then place the bag around the filter and try to get the zipper portion as far up around the mount as possible. Then I turn the filter about 1/4 turn at a time while trying not to spin the bag itself. Then you can adjust the bag back that 1/4 turn and go again (If I spin the bag with the filter it always gets out of place around the mount and ends up spilling out). Once you get the filter off just zip it closed to keep yourself as clean as possible. I normally just buy the cheap store-brand bags and keep a box with all my tools. They come in handy for many different tasks!

A Tip.... The oil filler opening is to be opened before draining the old oil so that air can enter the tiles above and the oil flows out more easily and quickly so that debris deposits are rinsed out, otherwise the oil will only gurgle

I noticed that my engine was much quieter after doing my 1st oil change. I noticed the factory oil was quite thin relative to any diesel oil I've changed in my trucks, so I believe the factory oil was a much lighter grade. I would suggest to anyone with a new tractor to change your engine oil at 15 to 25 hours and put a high quality oil in it; cheap insurance. The engine noises (rattles/knocks) were significantly lower with new 15w40 diesel oil and the engine idles smoother.

Usually a 50 hour service is something i would work into when shopping and buying a new tractor of any size ... Otherwise for most people the 50 hour service is a good way to just get to know your tractor and how things work and a chance to get things figured out for later on down the road . And i would suggest most tractor guys do a bit of filter number crossing since thats where you can really save money since most tractor oem brands are made by one of the major filter makers to being with.. On filters i have compared the OEM brands to Fleetguard and Baldwin and its close to a 110% difference cheaper to buy the Fleetguards or Baldwins

the problem were having with our branson 4225ch is that the hour glass for the hydraulic oil on the back was reading as empty. so when we want to go put some more hydraulic oil in there it started overflowing out the hole and its still is reading as empty. so i was wondering if you or anyone else have any ideas on what that could be? because we were thinking it could be air trapped in the oil tank.
@hphillips74254 жыл бұрын
Not sure about the Branson but it should be the same as a Kubota. When you change the hydraulic filter get someone to hold shop vac hose on the hydraulic fill hole. It will pull a vacuum and the oil will not leak out while changing the filter. I have seen at least 4 different video's of people using this technique and all were successful.

Funny you should post that. I actually did a video on greasing my other tractor and put florescent zirk fittings covers on them. I got away from them after I kept losing them in the brush and stuff. About 6 out of 10 would constantly fall off. But they do help locate the hard to find ones! Thanks for the comment!

So, Branson vs Mahindra? Better, worse, equal?
@Hfoutdoorsyt4 жыл бұрын
Branson all day long. Not only do I like the tractor better because of its power and features, the company as a whole has just impressed me. They really take care of their customers from the top to the bottom. Im a fan👍

@@Hfoutdoorsyt Preciate ya. I was debating between a Kioti and a mahindra, and then you threw the Branson in the mix lol.. I grew up on Massey Ferguson , Ford , John Deere, and Duetz

Tough choices. Lol. But I'm super happy with Branson. Been a workhorse for me.

Can't believe you have to do that every 50 hours. If you applied that to the average bus you would have to take it off the road for a service every 5/6 days whereas they usually go around 6 weeks between inspections.

You don't have to do it every 50 hours. Just the initial 50 hours. Thanks for watching 👍
