I there any update on this Adenium yet? Just discovered your channel. I live in Vegas ( Enterprise area) I am on vacation in the Philippines and just started loving the idea of growing Adeniums. I will definitely buy a few when I get back home to Vegas Soon. Thank you for sharing.

I lost this one because I was going thru health issue and didn't bring inside last winter. But prior to that it was growing healthy and rooted fine.

Great video! I never heard cleaning the roots with peroxide. I just had a problem with one of my stems I cut the soft stem off and used cinnamon on the stem. Hopefully it is all that rotted. I heard of using wood glue on the stem I cut😊. Thanks for the tip. Live in Southwest Florida.

This is a great video I will definitely be subscribing. I am a horticulturalist, however I am focused in agriculture and landscape (garden design). So unfortunately, with tropicals I often know little about proper culture. This has been very informative and fun to watch, and I am normally quite critical of KZbin videos on plants!

Great stuff. I just cut the rot off a D Rose I had 20 years after leaving it outside in upper 30s. I now have bonsai it. The question is, how long does it take for it to grow roots???
@GreenMangoes Жыл бұрын
Moisture increase and encourage roots growth. With the right amount of moisture you should see new developments in 14 days.

@@GreenMangoes Thanks. I used an electric fan and it was hard as a rock overnight. I also soaked peroxide like you said. I’ve done that with plants before also for aquarium. Good stuff man. Miss the Philippines.

Thank you for this very informative video! I did this, and it's day 8 of drying, but the caudux on mine doesn't seem to be drying much. It's still soft. Any suggestions?

I love this video and have subscribed. I have several adeniums. The largest one I think may have some root rot although the caudex is still firm. During winter I bring them inside and keep them on a sunny table. I would like to inspect the roots of the largest one and follow your instructions if the plant needs it but it is the end of December and I have read that it is best to do this type of repair and repotting in early spring. Do I risk losing the plant if I cut off root rot and repot now?

So you didn’t let sit for 10-14 days dry in the shade? I’d be afraid all the new cuts could get infected/fungus again? How about Sealing it with paint? Fertilizer? I use NPK I think the numbers are 16-8-12 slow release. I noticed a BIG difference in the size of the blooms and the Colors are more Vibrant!

Make sure to use sharp knife. Unfortunately sometimes it takes practices. My best advice is to cut little piece by piece and take your time. Dont rush it.

Do you water enough? If you had water enough then I would suspect rotten roots. I would recommend taking off the pot and inspect.
@OceanLife7722 жыл бұрын
A lot of time is not enough water, especially in the hot summer. My mom wasn’t watering hers because she “thought” watering would cause rot (it can if too much water, especially in cold temps). However, in summer when temps reach 95-98, I water around the trunk only once a week. I give it a good soak till I see water running off the drainage hole. Water it all around not just one spot. Don’t get the leaves wet. Depending where you are. In Hot Florida, I will start watering every 5 days. With this heat the water evaporates too fast. In “winter”, late October, I will water every 10 days. Cold front, I never water it. Good Luck!

My desert rose rotted at the base above the roots after i repotted it. I dont know what i did wrong. I cut off the rotting part which included all the roots. Dried it out . Do i put it in propagating soil or bonsai soil to try and get it to come back to life
@GreenMangoes Жыл бұрын
Just put it in soils of your choice as long as it's very well drained soil. Make sure you remove some leaves as it will draw water and energy, and your roots haven't been established yet. Go easy on watering.
@sarat1697 Жыл бұрын
@@GreenMangoes there hasnt been any leaves on this plant since last year in summer. In never came out of the dormant stage so i was told to try repotting it. I think this is why it rotted. I have no idea how to care for it. I will try and bring it back. The top of the stem is still green and the inside of the plant where I cut is yellow with a green edge .Does this mean its still alive?
