How do you get the octaver to not sound so muddy on the lower parts? I have an MXR Octave deluxe

Well it’s official. This is the first song i have ever learned on bass. My father was a professional bass player so i grew up listening to him. He passed in 2014 at 60. He traveled the country with a band named Fusion with Disney’s voice actor Jim Cummings who was living in New Orleans at the time back in 70s. I can’t believe i can get through this song without the tutorial already lol. Still striking the wrong strings on accident occasionally but hey i bet dad is smiling. I did check the tuning, E string was a tad flat. Amazing, it hasn’t been played in years. American Fender telecaster from the 70s. It is awesome. He also has a 5 string american jazz and a peavy fretless 5 string. I play alto sax so jumping to this is crazy.

We have the same character of our father cuz he just train me for just 1 week of bass guitar and when I can recognize chords I can play even with just watching some chords video and because of that I became a bass player in our brotherhood band that doesn't have a name right now...when I heard this music it was a meme that the rythnm is a neon remix with a sad song so I love it and I search for chords and it's really easy Sorry for the lost tho

This definitely earned my subscription...I'm learning how to play Bass now after almost 5 years of playing guitar and I'll admit it's true what they say, "Guitar is easy to learn but hard to master while Bass is hard to learn but easy to master" Or something along the lines of that...idk...All I do know is that this video helped me learn this song and quickly too. Either you can use a sponge or your palm to mute the strings, but then you will be able to play only with your thumb 😬

I was debating on learning the drums, bass, or guitar. it’s been a minute played a bit of guitar (new a bit but not a lot) back in high school what would be best in your opinion to a relatively new instrument to learn to play.

Each instrument has a unique set of pros and cons. Guitars are better than drums in case of setting them up. Just imagine how many pieces you have to fix to have a drum set 😅 however, if this is what you like - go for it!

I’m using Logic Pro X but it’s a paid tool. If you have Mac, you can use Garage Band or Audacity on Windows.

Practise is the key 😅 when you want to learn a songs bass line, first start with the 1/2 tempo or even less. Once you will fell comfortable playing it slow, increase the tempo. Don’t expect too much on the beginning, as your fingers will hurt you but after 3-4 days you will get used to it. Then you will not fell the pain 😜 and you will be able to play longer and harder.
