Thank thank thank you for the video, Mikayla! Your eyes being supersleepy, that scar of your face - proper signs of your dedication and your love towards them little ones. I absolutely adore how you talk about your boys and girls (no, I don't mean Ethan, sorry not sorry :D), making you smile automatically like a mum talking about her babies ❤ Loved Fawzi boi leading and wanting to join you. And how everything is so well organised, it's so clear & obvious that them animals are the most important members of your family (yes, a family. Not just a charity or foundation). The way you say ''hello" or ''good morning" to them (wish my boyfriend were talking to me in such a way lol). And don't be sorry, the video looks so natural, not edited, just a house tour. Wish I could join it in real one day, but - as for now - it's more than enough 💛 Many thanks again, keep doing your job. Love from Kraków, Poland!

I was surprised to hear you're worried about Fawzi around the other foxes. I kinda thought they'd assume he was a new cat. Or at least one of the yards would be gentle enough for an introduction. Kind of a shame, but at least he's making friends in the house.
@jackywinson49272 жыл бұрын
Yeah that one made me pause I thought they probably would just treat him like a cat or dog not outright attack
@ZakTheFallen2 жыл бұрын
Foxes tend to recognize their own kind, but might assume that something's wrong with him, due to his small size and that he's a different breed of fox. This is some of the conflict between various foxes at SaveAFox. The bigger problem is that Fawzi is much smaller then they are, they could easily cause very serious harm to him, even by accident. An adult fox is a dangerous thing to mess with, and there's no easy way to know what exactly will happen. Sometimes they get along great, sometimes they're neutral and avoid each other, but sometimes they attack on sight. Mikayla has mentioned before that certain foxes will attack each other if they're put in the same enclosure, unfortunately Fawzi is not equipped to defend himself against a fox that's 2 or 3 times his size.
@ZakTheFallen2 жыл бұрын
@@jackywinson4927 There's no easy way to know, sometimes it can take days before two foxes start attacking each other. Two adult foxes will usually back off after being hurt, but Fawzi is very small compared to them. That initial attack could be fatal to Fawzi, and it's just not worth finding out how bad it would be.
@thea1rachiel2 жыл бұрын
@@ZakTheFallen Maybe there will wind up being an enclosure down the road that is for just mini foxes like Fawzi-- he could visit there!
@indyreno29332 жыл бұрын
@ZakTheFallen, you mean species of fox, not breed of fox, "breed" refers only to domesticated animals, in fact, not all foxes are related, foxes are a paraphyletic group of dogs that are in the Caninae subfamily, which is the only extant subfamily of dogs (family Canidae), the only extant taxa of dogs that are counted as foxes are the genera Urocyon, Bassarilupus, Pseudalopex, Lycalopex, Cerdocyon, Vulpes, Neocyon, Alopex, Fennecus, and Otocyon, Urocyon contains two extant species being the Grey Fox (Urocyon cinereoargenteus) and the Channel Island Fox (Urocyon littoralis), Bassarilupus contains two extant species being the Pampas Fox (Bassarilupus gymnocercus) and the Sechuran Fox (Bassarilupus sechurae), Pseudalopex contains two extant species being the Culpeo (Pseudalopex culpaeus) and the Hoary Fox (Pseudalopex vetulus), Lycalopex contains two extant species being the Chilla (Lycalopex griseus) and the Darwin's Fox (Lycalopex fulvipes), Cerdocyon contains one extant species being the Crab-Eating Fox (Cerdocyon thous), Vulpes contains three extant species being the Eurasian Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes), the American Red Fox (Vulpes fulva), and the African Red Fox (Vulpes niloticus), Neocyon contains one extant species being the Tibetan Fox (Neocyon ferrilatus), Alopex contains four extant species being the Corsac Fox (Alopex corsac), the Arctic Fox (Alopex lagopus), the Swift Fox (Alopex velox), and the Kit Fox (Alopex macrotis), Fennecus contains six extant species being the Bengal Fox (Fennecus bengalensis), the Blanford's Fox (Fennecus cana), the Ruppell's Fox (Fennecus rueppellii), the Fennec Fox (Fennecus zerda), the Pale Fox (Fennecus pallidus), and the Cape Fox (Fennecus chama), and Otocyon contains one extant species being the Bat-Eared Fox (Otocyon megalotis), interestingly, while south american foxes are a monophyletic group being the subtribe Cerdocyonina, old world foxes (genera Vulpes, Neocyon, Alopex, Fennecus, and Otocyon) encompass a paraphyletic group within the subtribe Vulpina in respect to the raccoon dogs (genus Nyctereutes), interestingly, the bat-eared fox is the closest living relative of the raccoon dogs, the foxes that are in the genus Fennecus are the second closest to the raccoon dogs, the foxes that are in the genus Alopex are the third closest, while the tibetan fox of the monotypic genus Neocyon is the fourth closest, while the red foxes (genus Vulpes) are the most distantly related from all the other extant groups, interestingly, south american foxes (subtribe Cerdocyonina) are one of the two extant subtribes within the tribe Cerdocyonini (New World Canines), the other subtribe is Chrysocyonina (South American Wolf-Like Canines), which contains three genera of south american dogs that are not foxes, which are the monotypic genera Atelocynus, Speothos, and Chrysocyon, while the raccoon dogs and old world foxes (subtribe Vulpina) are classified within the tribe Canini (Old World Canines) alongside the old world wolf-like canines (subtribe Canina), the Urocyon genus is the sole extant genus of the tribe Urocyonini (Primitive Canines), the most basal of the three subtribes of the subfamily Caninae.
