I am glad that Wood Booger got her Daddy. He’s a Bad Man

The story of the wood booger, and the bad father and the good daughter made me cry. Thank you, Nance for reading it exactly the way the young lady wrote it.

Thanks for sharing such a touching encounter story. My heart breaks for all the children in this world who don’t have warmth, clean water, clothes, shelter or food, and especially those who have been so badly abused by a parent who should love and protect them! I hope they have and everyone here has a wonderful Christmas.
@LittleKitty222 күн бұрын
I grew up just like that. Both "parents" were horrifically abusive. People don't respect someone who's been abused so I've had no end abuse throughout my adult life too. Every predator in the entire country seems to find me! I'm terrified of people now. It's safer that way...

Dear Bakers Daughter, You most certainly were a strong, brave young woman! I hope you had a Christmas to remember with everything you wanted from Santa. I hope you’ve had a better life since your daddy left & your mommy was all the better for it too. I admire your will & love hearing your experience that night delivering cookies. I am 71 so I am from your generation. Bless you❤

Good, he needed to go away! Happy u had a nice Christmas. I never had any good ones. The holidays stress me out so badly with PTSD of my dad pulling another drunk and raising cane at 2;30 To this day at 66 yrs old, i wake ip waiting on the screaming and fighting to start. Isnt it amazing how a little Childs brain does this to a person their whole life! God Bless
@Mrsjam962 күн бұрын
I don’t have it quite as bad as you with my father but it was bad enough. I tried so hard to find a good man to have a family and I thought I did but he turned out to be a drunk too. I had his 17 year old daughter write him a letter and she let him have it. Her true feelings are on paper. He is sober for a little over a week. This isn’t the first time so pray for us. I’m just afraid that it might be too late. Both my kids my daughter and her 20 year old brother don’t really care if he’s around. He’s got a lot of years to make up for and you can’t really get that back.

Well I’ve got tears streaming down my face. I too grew up in a house with. Dad that was gone more than he was there and was always spending all our money at the bar with floozies. I was never beaten but I was screamed at and I heard a lot of yelling between my parents. I too remember the day my Mom made my Dad leave. Thank you for sending in your life changing story. I’m so glad that wood booger came along to save you and in turn saved your family. Nance, I’m married to a guy from Eastern Kentucky and you sounded like you could be from there reading this story. 😊 I felt like my Mother in law was still here. We lost her to breast cancer in 1998 but you sure did sound like her reading this. I think it’s the pattern of speech they have out there that did it because you have never reminded me of her before. Thank you to you both for bringing a happy ending of Christmas 🎄 joy. 💖💖💖

My heart is in my throat at the thought of this little girl being beaten up by her father! I’m sooo grateful her mommy got rid of him when he tried to come home after that. It seems there’s some humanity in those “wood boogers” when they see a child being hurt by an adult. Those cookies were its reward! And I think she’s right- it did more than get her father off her- it saved her whole family from him. Baker’s Daughter, thank you for sharing this with us, and I’m glad to hear you’re doing well in your 70s (I’m 72, doing well myself!). ❤ Thanks again Nance! Glad to get caught up!

Thank you so much to the Baker’s Daughter for submitting your encounter story! Nance, you definitely made the right choice by not “correcting” it. I felt like I was listening to that little girl from so long ago, right here in my kitchen. I had a very abusive, alcoholic step-father for a (thankfully) short time as a child. That fact, combined with the fact that I now have an 8 year old granddaughter- well, this one got to me more than some others have, I guess. Anyway, I really enjoyed it. I’ll be looking forward to the next one, Nance.😊

The Bakers Daughter is by far the best “Wood Booger” story I’ve ever heard. It touched my heart with every emotion. Even tho I cried thru out the whole story - the end did bring a smile and thankfulness for the Wood Booger that smelled those delicious cookies. I am pretty sure your mommies cookies was the best he had or ever will have. I’m sure if he was running after you he was only wanting more cookies from the best baker in town. I have never thought this but I wish I could have gave Mr Booger a giant hug a million thank you’s and more cookies for saving that precious lil girl called “The Bakers Daughter”. I just wished Mr Booger would have gave you daddy some more f the slaps and knocks he gave you. You were a little that 21:41 was so brave and strong (even tho it sure didn’t feel that way) Thank you Nance for not changing one word of Bakers Daughter story. God had His living hands upon you that night long ago and even tho Most wood boogers are smelly (so I’ve heard) he still is His creation and was the closest protection to you - So (I do believe this) God took Mr Boogers nose and turned his sense of smell unto off the charts. That is why your mommies cookies Went flying and landing everywhere. ❤ I wonder how many times thru out all the yester-years Mr Boogers mouth just went to drooling while the world’s best cookies danced in his BIG head. BEAUTIFUL ENCOUNTER w/a Wood Booger. Thank you Bakers Daughter for sending it to Nance and thank you Nance for not changing a word of the original then it being told by you Nance. A woman that’s a great story teller. By the way Bakers Daughter I also live in the great state of ALABAMA!!!!!! MayMERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄🎁 to ALL! To all a very God blessed New Year !!!!

Well thank you for sharing this terrifying account as an 8 year old. I really don't know which was the most terrifying, your Dad's violent abuse and neglect or the hairy dancing bear.
