For $200 dollars, I bought this wonderful 1973 Plymouth Roadrunner a few weeks back as I love these sports coupe body styles for some reason. She's still fit to a certain extent but I can tell this car is very angry deep down for what happened to her. In the end, I'm here to pick up the pieces by saving this muscle car from being crushed by restoring and add to my personal collection!
Even after another assessment, I found that this is one extremely tough car model! B Bodies for ya!

The junkyard videos are on fire. I have no idea where you're at, but a lot of these cars are good rebuildables here in Ohio. I'm a Ford, International, and Studebaker truck guy.... Just a thought, go back and do a feature of five cars or trucks, act on behalf of the junkyard with your commission *ALREADY* figured into the price, or get a non refundable deposit and buy the car yourself, and sell it to your viewers and have your commission in the total price. You're now our broker... Do not do teaser videos of showing killer cars and trucks, with the adage of; "I can't tell you where it is, or I can't divulge the contact information..." The above, fixes all of that...

@@joeschlotthauer840 Huh...odd. I'll have to look into this as these phases come and go quite fast from what I've been watching over the past few years in multiple communities here on KZbin. To fix something up, me and my brother have been talking about that but sadly not in a proper situation to do such a thing right now. We're hoping in the next couple of years to do such a thing as we have a few cars that are candidates for such a topic. I appreciate the info about this as I have to pay attention more on these swinging algorithms. Wasn't even aware about this going on lol. -Aaron

Back in the mid-seventies when I was in high school my best friend drove a '70 Road Runner. Cool car, but he also picked up a '73 Road Runner with a factory 318 pistol grip four speed and dual exhaust's. It was green with matching green bucket seat interior with fold down buddy seat and that wicked pistol grip shifter. The car came from my neighbor and I didn't even know it was for sale or I would have tried to buy it. She was one beautiful RR. At that time, another neighbor of mine drove a metallic silver with red interior and red stripes '73 Road Runner with a 340 pistol grip four-speed. Love those Runner's. Around 2007 or so I was driving through Santa Fe, NM and spotted a '73 Road Runner for sale, asking price, 1,000 dollar's. She was a rare car. It had the original 318 drive train, but this particular car was red with a halo vinyl top, cloth bucket seat interior and a factory sun-roof. The car was very straight and solid. I called the number but car had just sold...Sigh, missed out! Enjoy that Runner, they are a special breed.

@@TheDirtCatBrothers My friend was lucky to have those car's. He also had a '69 Charger RT and a new F-150 Ford that his dad bought him after he got tired of waiting on a new '77 Trans Am he special ordered. We are still close friend's, but live 100 miles apart. We are both Mopar fanatic's. I have a 2009 Challenger RT and a '71 Challenger convertible and he has a 2017 Challenger TA. I agree about vinyl top's, they can cause problem's, but the one I looked at was incredible. Zero rust, dent's etc. It had all its original panel's and only a grand. I could not believe it and I missed out.

@@TheDirtCatBrothers Yeah, probably true.. but hardly any of these left, and there's nothing on that car really, so it needs new everything~ Finding all the parts is what dooms this car~ There just isn't enough of it there in my opinion~ If it was an F-150 this stripped, you could make it happen.. but with this, I'd say it would cost close to 35-40 grand to get it back in really nice shape~ At that point, it wouldn't be worth the effort~ Not knocking your workmanship, just don't see this back on the road feasibly~

For mine, I recently decided to just find a donor car that's absolutely thrashed and just replace both posts and the roof combined as I learned that the posts on these B Bodies can have more damage in them when either bent, rotted or whatever may ail them so not going to risk it and just get a donor top. Hope you post up a video of your Roadrunner! Thanks for dropping by!

For 1973 the Plymouth Road Runner came with four engine options: 318, 340, 400 and 440. The 440 came as the GTX option, it would say Roadrunner on the body with GTX emblems on the hood with the 440 call out numbers. Even though you don't show the vin number, it doesn't really matter because this does look like a Roadrunner. Your vin should start out like this: RM23G3, the next numbers are the build numbers. If there is a fender tag which is found on the top of the front fender, drivers side, that would tell you more options. The color is B5 Blue, a very popular color and a nice one. It will take a lot of work to bring this car back together but it can be done. Even though it doesn't have the larger engines, its still a Plymouth Roadrunner, very cool. By the way the 1973 318 Roadrunner came with dual exhaust and could be ordered with four transmission options: three speed manual on the column, three speed manual on the floor, four speed manual on the floor and TorqueFlite Automatic, column shift or floor shift.
@TheDirtCatBrothers
@TheDirtCatBrothers 3 жыл бұрын
You are spot on! This does start with RM with the fifth number being that of a 3. Learning more about my Plymouth after all of these months, this came with the 318. Very low end model. To me, I don't care as a Roadrunner is a Roadrunner. The color I wrote down someplace but agree that it is a very wonderful blue as I plan on spicing that color up more when paint goes back on. Hoping to get more established as this won't be original. Plan on turning this into a Roadrunner Hellcat with the 6.2 litre out of some modern day Charger Hellcat, or whatever is available, into it. I have to find out of what needs to be reinforced with the modern engine as it will be a new encounter for me to undertake.

Everyone says it's a B5 blue as the VIN back's that up. Doesn't say anything about the interior color though I do agree that it was most likely blue and white interior. It will remain the same but upgraded to new stuff as there won't be any original parts on the car.

OMG There's tons of gold in that field, I sure would love to visit. Check out KZbin channel "Classic Truck Rescue" He recently visited a yard in Oregon that is shutting down and sending most of their inventory to a crusher. He found a FWD tow truck, and after some research, he found that it stands for Four Wheel Drive. He mentioned trying to work out a price on it, but I don't remember if he was able to buy it or not.

Oh trust me, I know. Sadly I cannot grab anything so only select cars that we've been eyeing for years. There is an FWD in this salvage yard as well but owned by someone else. At first they wanted too much for it but now it's unknown. Would love to grab it but I believe the owner wants to get rich quick off of it. Heck, not even sure what year it is. All I know, it's a BIG truck lol

That car has a really good platform no rust? Find a rust bucket take the top they are out there. Have you seen what coldwarmotors did with a 60 fury?
@TheDirtCatBrothers
@TheDirtCatBrothers 3 жыл бұрын
Besides the roof, the left side of the interior floor has cancer in it due to sitting for so long along with middle hub damage when they placed a floor shifter in it. Front end has to be pushed to the left a bit as it's damage from the wreck but it's also common uni-body stuff. I've seen that video series of his up to where ColdWarMotors was going to paint it. Think he used 3 cars to build one. Not the first time I've seen someone do that. If the catalog I have coming doesn't have all of the necessary refurbished stuff, including a roof skin, I plan on finding one that's got extreme cancer in the floor that makes it unable to be savable to get the roof and posts off of it.

You know it is illegal to have a car with no vin.no the one on the door don't mean shit if the one on the dash is missing.You can buy one cheaper than you can build it mo par parts are super expensive.I know this from restoring a 69 super bee.
@TheDirtCatBrothers
@TheDirtCatBrothers 3 жыл бұрын
It's not illegal by any means so stop that nonsense. A person can get a VIN for anything even if it's missing. How do you think people get VIN numbers for custom hot rods made from scratch? I can go out to any car that's been sitting in a field with VIN's not there and get new ones after showing proof of purchase. Have to go through a system with the local county office with a sheriff called out to come and inspect the car as that's how you have to inquire about it. The cost of doing so ranges from whatever county and state you live in. The thing that IS illegal is taking a VIN from one vehicle and using it onto another. The VIN that's on the door will help me track down to whoever took the original VIN from mine to get it back as I'm 100% sure it's in use.
