I am an old car guy who never got married or had kids. I found your channel a while back, man you are so blessed. I love the cars but the adventures you get up to with all the family involved are absolutely great to watch, watched the $1200 camper ones back to back. I have been watching Goonzquad for a number of years and their family vibe along with wholesome content was what I liked, they are changing though, becoming money hungry and too slick. You have replaced them as my favourite channel. Keep up the great work and I will keep watching.

Hey, Sleeperdude, love this car, I hope you go all the way with this one and make her shine again. But that's not why I am commenting. You asked in the video why does Rocky always want to eat cardboard? I can answer this as I have 40+ goats and actually run a goat care group. Rocky is lacking trace minerals. I noticed this a while ago, and Granny goat also lacks copper and Zinc. That reddish hue to their coat is a classic copper deficiency. Many states as well as Canada are deficient in selenium and copper so it's not anyone's fault, just that we need to supplement. Once you give copper you will see a big difference in their coats and shedding process. Sorry man, I couldn't help myself, but I am sure you understand I am only answering your question and answering with the best intentions at heart. I try not to miss an episode, love the cars and the family and your goats.

Those factory V8 Fairmonts and Zephyrs are pretty rare. I grew up in Dearborn when those were new, and didn't see many. I still remember going to the Lincoln Mercury dealer with my mom and dad back in 77 to order a new Zephyr wagon. I kept asking my dad to order the V8 because I would start driving soon. He ordered the straight 6 (200?) because that was right after the time of the OPEC "oil crisis". Warm over that little 302 and that would be a nice air conditioned sleeper, dude. Thanks for posting.

I casually bumped into this video. Seeing you guys rescue this car brought many memories. My dad had a 1981 Fairmont. It was a two-tone (brown on top and red wine on the lower half divided by a yellow trim). He kept it pristine and took great care of that car. It always had problems with the carburator and break pump, though. My dad passed away in 2012 and we kept the car and took care of it until last year, when we had to sell it. While not officially a production vehicle or a replacement for the Ford Ranchero (which ended production after the 1979 model year), the Durango was designed as a potential competitor to the newly downsized Chevrolet El Camino and was commissioned by Ford to be sold through Ford dealerships. As no official totals were kept by either company production estimates vary between the low 200s and 350, with 212 conversions known to have been made by National Coach Works.

The mid to late 70's the US car market was in transition and all the car makers were "finding their way". The Fairmont's a nice car. Well powered, nicely optioned and a comfortable ride. 1978 was 44 years ago. Eagles, Boston, Kansas, Rush, Led Zeppelin were popular. Jimmy Carter was president. I really appreciate your ability to find these diamonds in the absolute rough Great Work I was a teenager when the ‘77 thunderbird came out - always loved that “wrap-over roof line” that showed up the next year on the fairmont futura Great Find on an under appreciated Fox

I had a 78 Fairmont wagon bought new when I worked for Ford in the late 70's.l It was fully optioned 302 in a deep green metallic. Gogeous car and I loved it. The Cat plugged so I cut it out and the car went like a scalded cat. The 302 was 2 barrel only.

Love these old Fairmonts, too... My grandparents had a 79 Wagon, and my dad had an 82 sedan. I've always liked the design of these Futuras. Overall she didn't clean up bad at all for 32 years in the swamp...

I really enjoyed the video. You certainly got the whole family involved in the clean up. I like to see these old Fairmonts. I remember riding in one way back in 1980. A friend's Dad used to drive us to Civil Air Patrol meetings in one. It was a green 4-door with a 4-cylinder engine. I wouldn't mind having one now to work on and restore. Finding one up here in the rust-belt (PA) would probably be a challenge.

i had 2 of those fairmonts. one had a straight six the other a 4 cyl. combined them and dropped a 302 in it then a floor shifter, dual exhaust raised the rear put nice rims and tires. then winter hit. during winter i had to move it from where it was sitting. it wouldnt start. so a mechanic friend of mine came and got it to his garage. he liked it so much he bought it from me. found out it spun the bearings in the bottom but was an easy fix for him. i wish i still had that car it was fast with the 302 in it.

The Fairlane Futura is one of the best looking cars Ford made in the late 70's in my opinion anyway. I've always wanted one to hot rod. Lots of them were turned into drag cars. I'm jealous. Hope you can get it back on the road.
