No. 2 is completely incorrect. You should absolutely under no circumstances drop/scrap items that you believe to be useless or are in low quantities just because you need inventory space immediately. THIS IS WHY WE MAKE AND USE DROP CHESTS! Just make a securce wood chest or two, go outside and put them down on the side of the road and dump everything you don't need into the chest! Then go to the map and put a waypoint down (I like to use tent icons for drop chests) and label it DC. Then the next time you are in the area check the chest and grab stuff from it. If you keep using drop chests then those seemingly small amounts of items like 10 gun powder here or 80 brass there suddenly become massive stockpiles of those components that you can pick up at your leisure. Even during quests you should use them! You can't leave the POI during the quest so you can't use them right away, but that isn't a bad thing! It teaches you good behavior! You should always kill all of the enemies in a POI before you loot anything. Not following that rule is a good way to get snuck up on and killed! Then once the quest is done and the zombies are all dead you can loot to your hearts content. No matter how big the POI is it rarely takes more than 10-15 seconds to get out of the POI and over to the street where your drop chests are, so not using them is mere laziness and an extreme waste. I see so many people who wish on day 40 they had like 500 more brass to make bullet casings, and yet they've thrown 10x that amount away because they tossed small amounts of it away in every POI they've been to since day 1!

When reading treasure maps, it generates the treasure location based on your current locaction. So the treasure location may end up FAR away from your base, if you read it when you are already away from your base, depending on your luck (or lack of). Therefore in many cases it is better to take it home and read it there, thus making sure it is not too far away from home.

The underground farm thing is mainly used in PvP servers where you're trying to hide you main bases location, since the ideal is to hide the base the best you can, using those metal bars is a pretty bad idea since they stick out like a sore thumb and people who come across it immediately realize there's a base directly below them. A better alternative would be to find another transparent block to use instead, there's 2 that I know of that allow light through them whilst also looking as natural parts of the scenery. 1. The scrapable cars you can sometimes find out in the wilderness, if you make the hole to your farm directly underneath the car then it will allow light through it like the iron bar does, and you won't be able to see the hole unless you scrap the car - which might I add is a very common occurance on PvP servers, most cars are scrapped on public servers because of the engines and other useful parts you can get from scrapping them, so my advice is to never use a car as your transparent block to hide your base as they are often farmed to extinction and someone will no doubt discover your base as a result. 2. The stone boulders you can find that you can mine three times before they disappear, if you find one out in the wilderness somewhere away from new player spawns and somewhere not actively travelled to access POI's then you can mine just underneath the boulder as the most optimal way to disguise your farms light source, you *CAN* see the hole ever so slightly if you were to look really carefully standing very close to the boulder, but it's very unlikely anyone is going to be paying that much attention to every stray boulder they pass while traversing the wilderness. For that reason the boulder is the best transparent block to use to disguise your farms light source on a PvP server. As an added piece of advice, never use claim blocks on PvP servers, you may feel like they strengthen your bases defenses so you should of course use them, but the best defense for your base isn't delaying the inevitable of them gaining access to your loot room, the best defense is them never FINDING your base in the first place. Putting a claim block down lets other players 'scan' with their own claim block, if a chunk of land is claimed by your claim block then the raiders can see that when they try to place one down and have their radius turn red. If they find a claimed chunk then it isn't a matter of if they can raid you, it's a matter of when. Putting a claim block down just advertises your base to others, don't use one.

I would never get rid of anything brass, simply because I never have enough brass. I need all of it to craft ammo. What I tend to do it keep stackables in my inventory, and take non stackables to my vehicle.
@qwoeppel3 жыл бұрын
That was gong to be my comment as well, NEVER get rid of brass items and ONLY smelt them down instead of scrapping them. Brass is the only non-minable material that you are going to need a LOT of.
@thfreakinacage3 жыл бұрын
@@qwoeppel Yeah shame it isn't minable. I no longer hold onto any lead items since it is so abundant, but brass is sacred. Especially until you get some of the skills which help you find more of it, and get it from doors, etc. That doors skill I didn't find until way after game stage 100 on my local server with my wife, and I crafted many hundreds of bullets in that time, so brass is vital. I see from google it is made from Copper and Zinc, so I'd love to see those resources get added and become minable. Maybe you could mine those up, then combine them on the Chemistry Station, maybe with a required accessory (like the forge has the bellows, etc), to make scrap brass, then smelt that down for your forge. They'd obviously need to balance it somehow, but I'm sure they could do it, and you'd get more benefit from mining too.

Tip 21 is all well and good...but I just read all the books anyway. No matter how many times you read a book, you can always read it again if you find more copies. You still get XP for them, and they're not really worth carrying around to sell later. Leaving them behind is just silly, because, again, you still get XP for reading them. So...who cares which ones you've gotten? Just read every book/schematic you ever find...period. It's always gainful to do so.

The best source of brass is actually Dukes Casino Tokens. You really don't need to harvest brass at all. Just do quests and sell loot to earn Dukes. You can toss them into the forge 20k at a time.
@joshuajoyce78903 жыл бұрын
@@SavensWorld If concerned about space, all the brass items can be scrapped on the fly to a single pile of brass in your inventory. Great video! so much info in it! probably could have been a whole series even hehe. This has to be the best single video for intermediate players in 7D2D, seriously. Number 2: I disagree about the brass stack, there's a lot of things which break down into brass. And you can't mine it, so you'll only 'have' brass if you are running with a brass stack. But I wouldn't keep separate stacks of brass items. Brass takes a long time to break down though, so it can gum up your queue sometimes. Number 5: I didn't realize animal tracker worked like that. That's not bad at all. Number 6: this one I technically knew, but forgot about, and I really should use it more! Number 16: I usually just zerg the final loot (it's often at the opposite end of the POI from the obvious entry point, can usually just Kool-Aid-Man through the wall & grab it), and then reset and do the POI. It's just less repetitive feeling that way, but you still double the best loot. Depends on how my resources are looking though. If I need more canned goods or cloth or glass jars, I fully repeat the POI. Number 19: does that work if it's more than a single item? Like at my horde-poi, I'm using the final loot chest as a horde base box full of ammo. Also, if there's an item in there, does that negate your need to avoid getting near the container? I didn't know about this one at all, trying to fully understand the mechanics hehe. My own tip number 22: The further you are away from your base, the more picky you should be about what loot to keep. If you're across the street, may as well keep the junk loot, even build a box to stick it all in, if it's close enough to easily make another trip to grab. If you're 2km from base... consider how far you have to haul things, and be really picky and/or scrappy, and organize "sellables" by value so it's easy to make decisions on what you can throw out if you find something new.

the best tip is about the cables!! saves a lot of power. A question: can i mine all ressources underground but brass and coal? where to get coal then? from tje burnt trees? can i replant burnt trees?
@SavensWorld3 жыл бұрын
You can mine iron, nitrate, oil shale, and coal underground. Coal nodes can be found pretty much everywhere but are more prevalent in the forest and burnt forest biomes. Burnt trees can't be replanted as burnt trees. Any seeds obtained will grow into regular trees.
@ladybug5913 жыл бұрын
Coal is on the ground just like other nodes. It looks like a very BLACK rock usually not very large - hit it and you will soon tell if it's just stone and if it is coal just start digging down, mark it on your map and start making a coal mine. Protect yourself with a simple set of wood frames to cover over the hole, or make a nice Mine Head for protection as you come to the surface. Also when mining you can come across all the different types of resources sometimes in the same mine. There is a tiny bit of coal in burnt trees and a container behind a building called the Dump'n Lung has some coal in a pinch, not much though - mining is the only way to go. You need to mine large amounts, 4 to 6000 of Coal and 4 to 6000 Nitrate to get a decent amount of Gunpowder made in your Chemistry Set if you wish to make the amount of bullets required for a Horde Night. Or if you want the easy way out during Horde Night go look at 20:00 in the Gentleman's above video regarding the Punching Turret thingy. Regards.

This is the first video of yours I’ve watched. Any person purporting to know anything about this game who tells you to dump brass out of your inventory should not be relied upon for “tips and tricks.” Saven says dump the brass and then recommends you use a valuable inventory slot for iron. You can mine iron. You cannot mine brass. The rule is never pass up a source of brass, never dump brass. Brass is the heart and soul of this game. If you run out of space, scrap the brass items into one pile. If you are smart, you’ll run with a vehicle and use that inventory to keep the brass as a trophy or whatever. If you don’t scrap it, it will smelt into more brass in the forge. There are many sources of brass many people are not aware of, like the yellow pipe couplings and the lamps with the green shade. Take all that shit. You will need it all and end up buying more from the trader.
@SavensWorld3 жыл бұрын
As you may or may not have noticed, this video contains tips for various stages of the game. The brass tip is primarily a late game tip. It is not necessary at all to collect random brass. You are correct that there are several sources of brass. Unnecessary. It is far more efficient to use Dukes for brass. Purchasing brass from the trader? Yeah no. Smelt down Dukes. It is easier and much more efficient.

@@SavensWorld You must begin to accumulate brass early game so you have enough when you need it. Plus, I always have SO many Dukes to melt down early game, lol. No matter how much brass you collect, it's never enough.

Hello and sorry to trouble you but I need to resolve this issue. The thing is, I have added a zombie character and it loads without an error. It is displayed in the creative menu F6. When it gets spawned, I get error that Object reference not set to an instance. It will really help me if you can get me out of this. Also, if the localisation file is too big, can we create another one and how. If you are not able to help on this pls see if you can direct me to somebody who can. Thank you.

I had this when I laid out a trigger plate in front of my base door for a dart box. For some reason I thought I needed a hole under the plate. On horde night I kept getting the error message very time a zombie stepped on the plate and it almost got me killed several times. I put a block of dirt under the plate and it stopped. I'm going to guess your custom zombie isn't interacting with the ground like it should.

Will the Robotic Sledge cause the Demolishers to explode? They do a huge amount of damage. Thanks for the great tips.
@SavensWorld3 жыл бұрын
If you place your Robotic Sledge on the left side of your walkway, it won't hit the button on the Demos.

Never say never. But the chances for setting them off with this setup are very low.
@silsternensand3 жыл бұрын
You can also place the Sledge on a half block, that is placed on the lower edge of the walkway. The Sledge will then bump the feets of the zombies and not the body. That prevents from trigger the Demolisher.
