Man. I miss saves the day. I used to listen to them so much when I was in college...This and The Way His Collar Falls were my favourite songs.

@Leofm3786 well, Daybreak is already recorded, or rather, was with Dave. Chris opted to re-record it with the new members. Although, I did see them in concert Wednesday and they were weird, I didn't see much synergy between members... but Chris was amazing xD

@Dan8118 C#m, B, A, E... that's really it... their live stuff is at least a half step down cause he can't hit those notes anymore... the tab on ultimate-guitar is pretty right on.. the only funky part is right before the chorus... where he's playing like just the 1st fret on the D string then to the 2nd fret. And the picking in the 2nd verse is just arpeggiating the chords

I heard Chris had no other choice but to change his singing style. He majorly screwed up his voice singing like he did for years. So he was told, change your technique or you may not be able to sing at all one day. So he can't go as deep or scratchy as he used to. Agree definitely preferred his voice from Through Being Cool and Stay What You Are...but still think he's amazing.
@danybanana13 жыл бұрын
I didn't realize that the song by Say Anything (Sayanything) was actually a cover of this song. I like Max Bemis's voice better, but this is pretty good, too.

@theangrycarp lol He's been in this band since he was like six-and-a-half. I remember seeing them at the Manville Elks lodge in jersey and being like, "whose this little kid dancing around and singing?" I'm not a scientist or anything, but from what I understand when your balls drop your voice gets a pinch deeper.
@newbands113 жыл бұрын
Say anything was influenced by Saves The Day,so it's ridiculous to say that a cover/tribute is better.Besides, saves the day started 6 years before Say anything.

I try to avoid saying negative stuff but the whole thing about Chris changing his voice because he had to is nonsense. I'm curious how he supposedly came to that conclusion. If he learned to breathe correctly he could totally sing the way he used to. It's a style choice. He started doing doing that thing where he pushes his voice up through his nose and it also sounds like he's pooping at the same time... it sounds so awful. One of the many reasons everything from In Reverie onwards sounds so bad. Chris. You need someone to give you some honest Production tips/help. This video bums me out.

With you 1000% man. His later vocal style doesn't sound healthy at all. Like, that's not how a trained vocalist sings. He just sounds irritatingly nasal - I doubt any vocal coach would advocate this style. Also he was 21 when SWYA came out and he sounded his best. I mean come on your voice doesn't change at 21 because of puberty. Saves the Day is a story of fantastic music because of those first three records, but also of wasted potential.

He can't sing the same... :(

kzbin.info/www/bejne/d36YhXiIjK-FhJI The crowd murmur in this video is MUCH preferable to the sing-along here. I actually can’t stand this and would have left the room. Besides being cringey, artists aren’t allowed to just perform-and why? to show they know all the lyrics?, great for them.
