I really appreciate your wholesomeness. The "boring" dad joke. The talking about the weather. The talking about what you're having for dinner. The "I hope the power doesn't go out, 'cause I wanna watch TV" And your intro with the "Howdy" on the end. Always love your videos.

Love it! Another beauty!!! If the knot ever comes loose and you lose it in a future bowl turning, you can call it a knitter’s bowl. Knitters use the hole to feed the yarn through which helps to prevent the balled yarn from tangling as they knit. 😁

Wow that looks so cool Phil. Before I forget at the bottom of the crack it looks like there. I can see the ears and the shape of its face. Ok now back to the piece. Speaking of the cat and the crack the crack is my favorite part. Although it all looks amazing. Way to keep the nature in a piece of ????? wood. Great job my friend, Gary

I've been watching or rewatching your videos with my 4.5 year old. She loves the "saw dust clouds" and always asks me why you're painting (applying finishes). She recognizes some of the tools you use, watching me in the basement. Tonight, she was happy to see this transform into a "honey pot". Thank you Phil. ❤

Waaaaaaouuu. So perdy, Phil! The top reminds me of vases from the 1st century (though not as tall). Trez joli. Very pretty. We have meringue-like snow cover on the branches here. Wish I could post a pic of the view I have at the moment. Winter-wonderland. Was watching ELVIS on Netflix, but paused to watch your video. Can you hear Elvis singing Oh Little Town of Bethlehem... ? I have it playing on KZbin Elvis would be turning 89 in January. I wonder what he'd say about the world today... Have a great week, Phil. ⛸🎄☃

Hi 👋, Phil from Phil , that sure is a great looking 👀 piece, it looks like there is a red squirrel when you look at the side where the crack is, it’s a lovely piece of art, i’m not sure whether I said last week, but I’ve made a very very long and large scraper. Come boring to, I should be able to hollow out at least 24 to 30 inches in depth, this could be exciting, but very very dangerous 😂, Keep up the great work. Stay safe. , I hope you’re keeping well, And it sounds like you’ve got winter setting in like what I’ve got here, no snow, but plenty of rain, Phil from the moulin,

I think the heart wood and sap wood contrast side is the best, or is it the darker wood with all the knots, or is it that beautiful CRACK you accented so beautifully. I really having a hard time to decide witch side I think is the best!!! Love it. What a fantastic contrast of colours. And the cat! The knot with the crack has cat ears! Great work, Maestro. I'll be reading all the comments too, intrigued to know what it is. Jay

Lovely grain, fantastic colour contrasts, and the crack just makes it. The shape too is great - from quite early on I could see where it wanted to go and was just waiting and watching as you brought it out. As you say, it would have been a shame if that knot had come loose. Carole said she could almost feel the texture from the way the light played on it.

I like the shape you ended up with ,it makes it look like an elegant pot especially the little up turn on the top edge.

I have watched almost all your videos. I just found your channel about a week ago. I’m about to buy my first Lathe and self teach myself. I’ve never done it before but I’m fascinated by it. I’ve watched many turning videos and find yours to be my favorite. Mainly because you talk and talk as if I’m standing right there with you. Any advice or anything would be greatly appreciated. Love your work brother!!!

Awesome, thank you, Chris! 😊 Well, lots of advice, I guess. I don't know how far into "about to buy my first lathe" you are, so I don't know where to start. I can tell you, I learned to turn by watching videos, just as you are doing. Hundreds of videos, hundreds of hours and lots of practicing what I had learned. Lots of pieces flying off the lathe and huge catches along the way. I almost gave up. I'm glad I didn't!

Lol thank you Phil. I’m glad your didn’t give up as well. I will be getting one in the next month or two. I’m sure I’m going to have stuff flinging all over the place for sure😂. I will continue to watch your videos and learn from you for sure. Your awesome.

What a beauty! That feed and wax really brought out the colors in the wood. Hope the storm didn't mess up anything. Have a wonderful weekend❤

Great work saving the crack. Natures Art! Hope you survived the rain storm, pineapple express, up there in the great Northwest. I know that Bonnie Lake is up on a hill but it still is concerning. Good choice picking that one. I think it may be Mulberry or some type of wood like that, just beautiful. Take care and stay warm and dry. Thanks

I survived the rain but the wind took down a lot of branches. Big mess around here but that's the norm for winter time. Thanks, Dave! 😃

Phil, when I look at the knot and the crack on the right side l see a bat and the crack is his wing in flight. Also he has two bat ears coming out of the top of the knot. Thanks for the video I always appreciate your work. Scott
