You are SUCH a breath of fresh air in the MBTI “community”. Holy wow. I almost called it quits with anything related typing because though it offered some great understanding into my life, and gave me some benchmarks to keep as goals for improvements, I felt the current community at large left a lot to be anticipated. Anyway, I’m enjoying your stuff. Thanks for posting.

I don't think the way you've been depicting/summarizing the IxxP's Demon function is as accurate as your other ones are. Personally, (after just hearing my sister play The Greatest Showman's "This is Me" song) I think IxxP's Demon comes out more as such: *"I don't fit in anywhere, but that's ok, preferable even. I don't need your validation! And to prove it I'm going to keep obnoxiously expressing myself in order to find my place in the tribe, because I have to fit in somewhere!"*

"They are dumbing us down and trapping us with sensory pleasure and don't want us to see the big picture of what is happening to the alienated masses so they can keep being in power and hiding stuff from us! They're a dangerous mysterious type that has malicious and oppressive hidden intentions and everything they say is a lie to keep the system functioning as they wanted it to from the very beginning! Nothing is what it seems! Don't trust anybody! All your truths are inside yourself and you'll see them as long as you elevate your consciousness and focus on the big underlying picture that is placed behind the masks of what we can objectively see in front of our noses" "That (specific) institution is f*cking *over* controling me, brah! I wanna do whatever the heck I feel like with MY life, if I wanted to think about tomorrow I would just go sit quietly in that dark corner and cry with them over my wasted life overthinking, I'm not doing that, cuz ya know, I don't even know if I'll be alive tomorrow, so why care?! hahaha In the end they just want me to do stuff for them, and guess what babe? I already foresaw their intentions, I'm not dumb!! I'll make their lives a living hell, I'll agree to do everything they want, but do it poorly, and then we'll see if they will try to control me ever again!! Do you wanna bet who will control them in the end? Heheh" And that's the difference...

Eh, I spent years of my life wondering what the hell was wrong with me, why I didn't understand how to act around other people. Then I found mbti and studied like crazy, that was all I did for 3 weeks. I went from thinking there's something horribly wrong with me to thinking I have very immature Fe and Si. Great points Dave. It's almost like this is a meta-strategy to help people self-reflect but through collective conscious means. Like another degree of separation from self, to see the objective lightness/darkness that lies within one's own subjective self. Once these ego-energies match (cognitive functions), all that's left is pure awareness.
@bananaboy41476 жыл бұрын
Huh
@AustinOllar6 жыл бұрын
What I mean is often people get tormented by the things they are unconscious about. When they become conscious as to the reason why they feel or act the way they do, they then have a greater control. Because they can objectively detach from the situation, and just be awareness or consciousness rather than being "stuck" or in the midst of the energies they are drowning in.
@bananaboy41476 жыл бұрын
How do people get tormented by things outside of their awareness? I mean, what would that look like? A mysterious feeling washing over you of simply being tormented and not knowing why? How does a person behave when they are drowning in these "energies?" Lashing out and stuff-?
@AustinOllar6 жыл бұрын
Yeah exactly. People resort to deterministic behavior and playing the victim card in order to justify what is happening to them. It's a sort of short cut to understanding which doesn't work, as these patterns, when not understood or nullified, tend to repeat themselves over and over.

4:52 If your mind doesn't show you what's coming next, why would you be anxious? If you can't visualize the future, why would you be afraid of it? It makes sense for the more imaginative (the savior Ns rather than the Demon Ns) to experience anxiety because they can see what's coming and they don't like it. In a previous vid, Dave mentioned how sports champs are always saying "we're the best" because they're 'lead SE' and constantly comparing themselves to others superficially. Given that they would then have a demon Ni, is it true that they're the same group of people who have a higher incidence of anxiety over the future as implied by this claim? I find it hard to imagine.
@kindauncool Жыл бұрын
They tend to be anxious when it comes to figuring out the "why" behind things. They don't really want to know that that much- they just want to experience and live in the moment. I don't really understand or agree with what I interpreted from what you said about them comparing themselves to others superficially. What makes the comparisons superficial? What are the comparisons? You didn't really say anything there, so you're leaving people to interpret whatever it is you mean by "superficial comparisons." Seems like a quick and easy cop-out to get intuitives to agree with you and if that's the case then alright, mission complete, but if you're actually trying to understand, then please be more specific.

Could you make a video about the Fe/Ti relationship. Since Fe is my "demon function" I feel I should be able to understand it more, so I can deal with my problems better. It would also be nice to see how Fe dominant people think, since I cannot even begin to comprehend what having Ti as a demon function could be like.
@spirallove59464 жыл бұрын
trying to understand what savior and demon functions are, am not feeling totally clear, but here is how i understand it as of now: - both savior and demon functions cause you to feel animated (create tidal waves), whereas shadow functions generally affect you less - savior functions are more associated with positively animated states, while demon functions are associated with negatively animated states. basically in both cases you care a lot about the thing, whether its in a positive or negative way so if you find yourself caring a lot about something in a positive way (something you feel very passionate about), and that it's a recurring pattern in your life, it's likely that thing has to do with your savior function? likewise, if you care about something in a negative way (something that massively irritates you), and it's a recurring pattern in your life, it's likely it's related to your demon function? is what i'm saying correct? and an example, i find myself in very energized states when talking about my personal interests, values, and feelings, and it is a recurrent pattern in my life. should this indicate that i have Fi as a savior function?

This is a great lead-in to the conversation for those completely unfamiliar with this kind of language or dichotomy. The triangulation comment is very poignant as well, since this is a tremendous tactic to employ in multiple arenas. Hegel's dialectic, tertiary thinking, existential disassociation, transcendental meditation, whatnot. The rule of 3s is handed down like a mandala or other potent symbol from history-- again, linking Jung's insights of the occult. I would say more think of "occult" as directly translated to spooky evil rather than "seldom learned knowledge." Arcane wisdom has a nice ring to it.

Here's a question: If IXXJs want to avoid chaos, why would EXXPs (rather than IXXJs) have the anxiety/fear related to the unknown (which would naturally bring about chaos)? I'm a bit confused about how to distinguish between these two ideas.
@aniokay5 жыл бұрын
For me, who might be an infj, I plan because I simply cannot handle uncertainty. I need to be able to visualise what I'm going to do for the next 6 months/next year. And that takes away the anxiety. But I kind of also have to project the trajectory of the world, so I don't have to consider all the facts about it all the time. This makes me quite fatalistic about the world...

@brackonstudios6 жыл бұрын
+SpaceyNYC Depends I guess, do you: Feel that it's genius for possibly being that? (Meaning you loved making the connection.) Or do you feel insulted/threatened for such an stealthy 'attack'? That's a bit hyperbolic, but the first might make you Ne-Si for picking out the connection (could be your middle functions), while the second might make you more IxxJ, for it'd mean you're getting a hunch you don't like the implications to.
@SpaceyNYC6 жыл бұрын
hmm.. I don't think it's genius, I think it's somewhat obvious and i'm not the only one who could see that... But I don't feel threatened by it, it's more like I'm glad I noticed this so I can see what's really going on here. I tend to do this all the time -- whenever I see something, my mind immediately tries to figure out a motive or what's not being said/what's REALLY going on here.
@brackonstudios6 жыл бұрын
+SpaceyNYC In that case, for the last part of your comment, that probably relates more to the judging/tribe-self functions. Since you're 'concerned' about 'motive'. Meaning, you're using (whatever organization function) to figure out what another is doing. But it also means you could be in with the ExxPs, since you might be sensing someone is trying to manipulate you into doing something. Hence his: "You can't control me! I do what I want!" analogy. Maybe see if you relate with the ExxPs (mainly ENFPs or ENTPs), since they aren't worried about their place in the tribe, but can become concerned about environmental control from their free-spirited/pattern-seeking minds. Again, it's hyperbolic, but the psychological aspect is similar.
@SpaceyNYC6 жыл бұрын
hmm. I was never really the rebellious type.. i'm more of the do as your told type unless what i'm being told is counter-productive.. I extremely concerned about motive, but not on a world-social level -- more so with the people who are really close to me that I care about. I always want to make sure the people I care about aren't being tricked or duped or heading down the wrong path.. and if I see them being blind to implications or consequences I readily point that out to them without a second thought. I also look for motives to make sure me personally am not being tricked or misled so I can avoid a potentially negative experience.

@DaveSuperPowers +DaveSuperPowers Hm. Now you've got me pondering. So, you say (in the beginning of this vid) that when we see someone at their "best," that's their strongest/top/savior function... And, vice versa (on the whole "demon" bit.. Which, I do find somewhat practically fascinating). In your opinion (& in general), what effects do drugs have on this whole thing? In specific, what function are we seeing when someone (usually muted, appearing to be at least somewhat "introverted..." or not..) is already in a good mood, consumes caffeine, then gets super excited & "go team! Connect the dots! Forward, MARCH!" chatty (or someone who's "extroverted" gets all quiet, observant, & strategic/creepy lol)?Would that be more of the same? Or, milking/getting high on the inferior/demon/ego? For me, this is a huge & pivotal question for MBTI/typing. Which, will help fill in a major gap & take advantage of an opportunity to more accurately type people (aka myself haha). Also... Why are there no: "Depends." "I don't know/DGAF." "Both." "Neither." And/or "N/A" options on tests? We *know* those people exist.. Right? Oh, &, your data approach is looking more & more legit & all... So, like, can you please make a "um, the reason why I'm into this is because I don't know what my practical contribution to society is and therefore I'm *broke* & trying to change that by figuring out who I am & where I'm f@$%'g up but can't afford a friggin $99.oo sort of beta phase-but *may* be super legit-mbti test ... We should probably remain hermits or chaos controllers or whatever as long as we drop the stories and work out the issues that are real issues to us. I may care what some people think but not everyone, it is good enough that we're able to fix what we must but not everything. All four demonic attitudes mentioned are about _people_ and people surely cause us problems. If you live in rural areas you'll have less people-problems. It's not just an attitude-thing to be changed, it's also a people-thing.

Why *Jordan Peterson and DaveSuperpowers are both INTJ:* Dave is most likely an INTJ based on his similar style to Dr. Jordan Peterson (in terms of his organization and emotional assertiveness). Moreover, many people mentioned that Dave admitted in earlier videos that he is INTJ. My strong conclusion is that Jordan Peterson is INTJ as well. He is all about organization of his concepts (Ni) and he's concerned about the way the group (the political world in this case) thinks and acts (Te). Jordan Peterson is definitely both a thinker a doer and his theories and work ethic goes hand in hand to show that. Peterson is firstly concerned about organization of the rational and secondly reasons of the tribe. What gives away the fact that he's INTJ is that he uses his Fi a lot to defend and argue for the things he believes in. He brings in a LOT of emotional assertiveness to his opinions (just like Dave does regarding MBTI being taught wrong, Ni users are not special, etc.) and they don't mind ruffling a few feathers if it means that they can tell the truth. They are both INTJ it shows very clearly.

+TAEHSAEN You seem pretty sure about this INTJ perspective, making this it's own miniature essay? Header and all? Ok, I'll try to give a response/critique of this: Where are you getting 'emotional assertiveness' from? That could very well be calculated efforts (Ti) to communicate making people feel a certain way (Fe). Also, they don't bring their personal selves into their discussions, why do you think Dave hasn't 'come out' and told us his personality? ("earlier videos", he's made fun of his earlier videos!) He's bound to know his type from his friend's objective typing method, so why hasn't he shown us yet? Or talked about himself? This is where I bring some things from my previous comment to you (cause I don't want to loose it or you miss it): If he were concerned about organizing, he'd be like a monk pining away at developing a philosophy to live by (hence Organizing). (I know he's written books) but more often than not, Peterson's front and center before people telling them: "This is the biggest thing!" And then the next day he's saying "No, this is the biggest thing to live by!" Some of the judgement part relates pretty well I guess, but he also talks about how people (the tribe) should be to each other and to themselves, relating them to almost archetypical models (a very Fe-Ti concept). In short, I really don't think Peterson is 'firstly concerned' about organization, for reasons I've stated above. And I really don't see any clear 'emotional assertiveness'. Both Te and Fe types (or regardless of Fi or Ti) can be passionate about things without bringing in personal biases. Their sureness could be based on 'I've studied this for a long time, and think this objectively true, and because I like it, I'm going to be enthusiastic about it.' There's nothing emotional about that kind of assertiveness, it's just enthusiasm. I'm not trying to crush you typing because I don't like INTJs or your insights, I'm just trying to keep you from being a Snap-Decision Johnny like Dave warned against.

Hm. Nice. I agree w/you on DSP. However, I believe that what you are seeing as Dr. JBP's Fi, may more probably be Si (Tradition). Though, I'm definitely not a 100% sure as to whether it would be tertiary or inferior... As, I'm no "pro." He definitely fits the "Frankenstein" description @MichaelPierce uses as an analogy in his INTP vid (if you either observe or ask me... Of course you've done the former). And, he definitely seems to use Ne & Ti. Dr. AJ Drenth believes he's an ENTP (medium.com/@ajdrenth/jordan-peterson-champion-of-meaning-in-a-scientific-age-6c303f90ae7d). And, well, he has "creds." Thanks for sharing your ideas. ✌😎

Tell me if this sounds like INFP or I am a mistype. Daily, I am in a loop thinking about conversation topics to talk to my friends about. These dont last long, and quickly change topic, person, or mood alltogether. All in my head, I go from Person X hates me, no, person X likes me, no person X is indifferent, Then, I start to feel that i dont convey enough information about myself, for them to even care that much about me, and I start to feel that I lack the mental equipment to strengthen the harmony. Maybe I dont know enough about myself, rather, but I get upset about being perceived wrong and missing an opportunity to connect. Then I get anxiety that I didnt talk to that person, didnt make plans (inferior Te?) And soon, this time space becomes greater and I get even more distant with them. I wait, wanting for them to take care of the connections (lack of Fe? Te?) So i can better mirror them and take on a purpose (Se wanting to be like them). Its as if I want the other person to give meaning to me, and my sense of self is often influenced by how the other person perceives me. So I want to change myself to better bond with any person.

Shadowmaxim I’m thinking MBTI probably isn’t going to deliver the solutions or satisfaction your desiring here. The enneagram can be helpful in learning and understanding fear-based motivations and patterns, but not for finding a magic formula that makes you malleable enough to be lovable for any/every random person. Maybe I’m misinterpreting what you’re looking for, but personally I’m convinced others will only have the capacity to hold you in as high a regard as you do yourself and self-improvement only for acceptance from someone else is a great disservice to yourself.

why should one also use complicated technical words which are to be regarded neutrally and not to be evaluated in order to describe a complex human being. you rather make a black and white mentality in order to explain what is right and what is wrong. what as we all know of course a single person can and must decide generally for all people. if my sarcasm still doesn't light up like a fire engine light aka RKL rotating beacon / rotating light should go offline and get some sleep. this comment i started writing after 42 seconds into your video but from now on i'll keep listening in and try your video to finish it. okay i seriously didn't make it to the end because too much doesn't make sense or is vastly undercomplex. i got to 7:01. it's so obvious that if you take 100 or even 10.000 people from the same city or country, most of them have the same problems. they have a lot in common like: they are all human beings, let's say about 50% are women and 50% are men, they come from the same city, have the same culture, speak the same language, have seen the same commercials, have the same dreams and desires, which softdringks they know and like, which kind of ice cream they loved as a child and and and... i could go on like this all day. I myself am a total individualist and yet I know that if you take two people and one is rich and one is poor they seem very different but yet they have more things in common than they even think about and these are the small things that hardly anyone thinks about because most people focus on the differences. i saw the thumbnail and at first thought it was music and looked at it but then was massively disappointed by these claims that are so undercomplex and black and white that i feel compelled to comment on a 5 year old video. I only learned about the MBTI a year ago and I'm no expert on it but your retoric and logic tell me your statements are not to be trusted. Forgive me if this sounds rude, I'm trying to be as factual as possible in describing what bothers me.
