The fact that these guys were in college and conjured this film up is truly philosophical and intriguing. They introduced a whole different approach to the horror genre and that's why this franchise stood out and became so legendary. It wasn't just about blood and gore. I also love how they treated the films as a continuous series that connected so well. It was so brilliant! It just kept the audience wanting more and more over the years! The first Saw movie has probably one of the greatest twist endings ever. I remember seeing this movie in a theater and omg what an incredible experience. When the ending came around and John Kramer got up from that floor the whole audience was screaming in shock. Then when he stepped out of the bathroom and shut the door while Adam was screaming everyone started cheering and clapping. An experience i wish i can go through again! Its funny how this film was created on such a small scale with a small budget, but the irony is that it had such a huge impact on the world with just the start of that one low budget film. Incredible.

This is kind of surreal. I only just remembered right at the very end of the video I’ve been seeing Adam in that room in my head for a week or more. Simply because I’m going through a terribly difficult time, thinking to myself I’ve got to get out of that room somehow. And the awful thing about life is some of us don’t get out. Which again, reminds me I’ve even thought of doing my own cut of Saw and using all the bathroom scenes and making it look VHS, but I’m not where near that skill level yet.

One person missing that absolutely should have been a part in this panel was Kevin Gruetert. His editing played a huge role in every Saw film until he was finally asked to succeed David Hackl (Saw 5 is severely underrated because it provided the backstory for Hoffman becoming the accomplice) and direct 6 and 7 (And XI). Without his editing as well as Charlie Clauser’s score who knows if we would even be talking about this movie and franchise becoming as iconic as it has become
