Great job on the stand Chris. Nothing more handy than having a locking set of wheels to store it out of the way as well.

If I was you, I would feel very satisfied with this result. A spot of paint does finish it off nicely. Have you created anough room to install a CNC breake press? You could test your Fusion 360 CAD skills and wow us with fabulous enclosures. Nice work Chris. Regards Peter

Thanks Peter. There is a new CNC on the way but keep it a secret.

That turned out very nice. You are a good welder.

To be honest the power was set a bit high as the weld bead was wide. I learned to weld at a young age but first time in 5 years so I’m out of practice. The other thing is I have a good welding set and it makes a huge difference compared to those cheap DIY welding machines. Trying to do more mechanical projects as I am doing a lot of electronics at work so want to do something different on my weekends. Hope your OK thanks for watching Regards Chris

Welding looked reasonably good to me, I only recently got a Gas-less (flux core) Mig welder, that took a fair bit of getting used to, I can arc (stick) weld a lot better than I can mig that is for sure, I’m loving my auto darkening helmet too.

I have a good welding machine with a very heavy copper transformer it takes out a lot of the guessing. Flux core is better for outdoor welding where you may lose the gas shield. I used to work in a fabrication shop but not as a welder.

Ooooh Flecktarnmuster waterproof welding suit...oooh suits you Sir, oooh! Impressing the German lady welding aficionados are we Sir? Better welding than I could manage. Doing something other than electronics will be good for you and to be fair, you've always been multi-functional/cross skilled in your videos from day one.

Couldn't you have fitted the set screws the other way round then the srew head wouldn't hit the castor? Good video, thanks Chris.
@allthegearnoidea6752 Жыл бұрын
No unfortunately the screws would have hit the legs on the saw. I could have drill and tapped the frame but couldn’t be bothered for this type of project

Great construction :-D When i saw the word "pedestal" i thought about the drills in the school metal work class, but i was wrong, No supprised there :-D. They were factory pillar drills bolted to the floor. I thought Axminister was a carpet manufacturer, carpet in a workshop seemed a bit to far :-D

Multimaterial Blade.

Well done, Chris. So nice to be able to easily move the saw around, you will appreciate that every time you do. I also had wondered about the saw blade, I have never seen one like it, usually see the abrasive disk type used for cutting steel. Is the back fence of the saw adjustable? Regards, David
@allthegearnoidea6752 Жыл бұрын
I think after watching some other videos the back fence is adjustable but I didn’t spot it on the day. I’m surprised it wasn’t adjusted correctly as it had been used at work
@davidv1289 Жыл бұрын
@@allthegearnoidea6752 That is odd - usually they are set and never moved!
