Just found your channel from Clint at C&C Equipment. Very interesting as I am from the west coast and was in the sawmill/ logging of softwood timber. Very diff from your business. Didn’t know you had a timber industry in Indiana.

Oh yes!! It’s heavily suppressed. But the industry is quite large. Thank you for commenting and listening to Clint:)

Fantastic video! Watching the process of saw-milling 6/4 Hard Maple is truly fascinating. The precision and skill involved in handling such a tough wood are impressive. Great job on showcasing the beauty and strength of hard maple. Keep up the amazing work!

I don't know we had Hard Maple trees in southern Indiana. Nice to know this.

I enjoyed the very nice sawing, thanks. I had taper locks on my mining equipment, a good system.

That’s some good looking hard maple good to get it all sawed up before the heat and sun stains it
@HelmsburgsawmillАй бұрын
You got that right! The lumber starts to change colors by the hour this time of year with maple!! And you can probably see the logs themselves were starting to:) Just in time

@@Helmsburgsawmill yes sir. The value normally takes a big hit once it starts to turn brown. Then gets worse from there. Too bad about the headsaw bearings that’s a good brand of bearing your using the hold up to the abuse really well

How do you think the hard maple would saw using a band mill instead of a circular saw? The maple is good looking wood!
@robertgreen8695Ай бұрын
Did it affect the shaft housing at all? Nice bit of sawmanship though it all looked good. Hope you are all well and happy.

Oh yes it sure did!

Nice to see part of the mechanical repair. It would have been nicer to-see the full logical breakdown of the bearing/shaft replacement. I know your heart is in Sawyering, but we’re not all Sawyers. Some of us would love to-see the repairs in more detail. Me included…

What is 6/4 HM getting used for?
@HelmsburgsawmillАй бұрын
It will be getting milled down further, kiln dried, and sold in small individual pieces for projects like making shelves or furniture
