That's a big ass poplar. Size wise it reminds me of the spruce and Doulas Fir that we sawed at a mill I worked at during the early seventies in the southern interior of British Columbia

You are fine! The commentary is good! It’s nice to have a narrative about what you are doing!

Not to long ago you said you put different teeth on your blade. Can you show the difference and explain benefits of one vs other. Also how often do you sharpen? I like when you comentate, i learn from how you read a log....helps me on my little ol bandsaw

Is your saw blade powerful enough to cut through nails or do you use a metal detector beforehand?
@Helmsburgsawmill2 ай бұрын
I rarely cut through nails. And ya it’ll go through them😂 Then I have to stop and see how much needs done to the teeth

Great video 👍 Maybe this is a stupid question, but what does the dial at the front of your carriage indicate? Sorry if I'm not using the right term. I'm assuming it is the distance from the dogs to the blade.
@Helmsburgsawmill2 ай бұрын
Yes pretty much! I call it a dial or indicator. It tells me the distance from the bunks to blade. It’s what I base my sets off of

That’s pretty cool when you can pull 2 dimensional boards off in 1 pass. How are the rpm’s matched up between the saw blade and those edger blades? Nice sawing bud. What are those cants used for pallet boards? Thanks for sharing this video
