Just a theory… but Hoffman could easily escape the bathroom by breaking his foot like Eric Matthews does. Just because Dr Gordon threw the saw away doesn’t mean Hoffman will die. I mean… Hoffman did break his wrist and rip his own face off to get out of the reverse bear trap so he’s not afraid to mutilate himself to survive. So I refuse to believe Hoffman will die int he bathroom as he can easily escape by smashing his foot

Detective eric Matthew’s was one of my my fav detectives. I didn’t know he didn’t want to be in the saw movies anymore. He was a good character. Mark hoffman is a great character I knew he had to come back, I really want to see how he escaped the bathroom. I’ve always said that saw is one of my fav franchises.

In no particular order, my top 10 characters throughout the franchise are John Kramer, Amanda Young, Detective Rigg, Detective Kerry, Mark Hoffman, Agent Strahm, Agent Perez, Jill Tuck, Lawrence Gordon, and Adam Stanheight. Honorable mention to Lynn Denlon from Saw 3 and Billy the Puppet (he should be counted as a character too even if he is not a real person as he brings so much personality to these movies).

Ooh yes Daniel Matthews (petty theft but hes a kid) Adam Zep (hospital orderly) Paul leahy (wire maze trap. He was suicidal/depressed) Allison Kerry Doctor Lynn (had an affair but she was mostly a pawn/they needed a doctor) Jeff Joyce Daygen (bc of bobby) The janitor from the health insurance company The secretary as well These are the ones that had almost 0 reason, esp the ones that were mainly pawns (Daniel, Joyce, the Janitor and Secretary). And the other few were just either struggling with depression/grief, had an affair (lynn), investigating (kerry), or gossipped? Low self esteem? Envy? (Zep, unclear. Saw some people say like an earlier script or commentary claimed he gossipped about coworkers but idk) Many others also didnt deserve it, but these were the ones that had the least justification on their own merits imo Ivan is the one person i think truly deserved his game

Glad to see Strahm, Scott Patterson played him perfectly, and I felt he was just more intelligent than his coworkers and the only one good enough to solve things. thought he was really badass and that's the only reason I really like Saw 5 really. thought his character was really entertaining.

I almost could put Mark Hoffman in the first place but obviously one can't put Jigsaw himself in the second place. Saw movies without John and Hoffman just felt empty for me and to be fair I haven't enjoyed a Saw movie since Saw VII with the obvious exception of the last movie which was amazing with the added bonus of having Mark Hoffman even of only for like a minute or less, with such a cheesy line but I fangirled all the same!

Happy to see a shoutout for Strahm here, he’s been a favorite of mine for a while and I wish he could’ve stuck around as the new Detective Kerry-like character for a while. While I may be in sparse company on this, though, I actually really like both Rigg and Jill Tuck. Saw IV with Kerry in the lead would’ve been cool, but the way Rigg becomes more and more sympathetic the more friends and colleagues he loses to Jigsaw and Lyriq Bent’s solid performance still place Rigg among the better crop of Saw protagonists to me. Also, while they sadly totally betray her character in Saw 3D, I love Jill’s portrayal as a Karla Homolka-like ice queen who plays her cards extremely close to her chest until the moment is right. The gradual drip-feed of information we got about her throughout the films was really neat to see, and it would’ve been cool to see her still working around the edges of the other characters out there somewhere like Dr. Gordon.

Indeed, it would be weird having Dr. Gordon and Hoffman both missing a leg. If they let him survive it must be very creative and thinking out of the box, just like he did with the reverse bear trap. I bet no one expected him to survive when there was like 5 seconds left till he actually did it by using his surroundings in a very clever way.

When Tobin passes, they MUST retire the Saw franchise! I believe he never did, that's a person who has no motivation to fight for his life. He believes he failed to save his son (to be fair he did fail), but the idea that his son died because of him being a corrupt cop must be torture by itself, so all this is a pointless “prolonging the inevitable” for him. Had he known his son survived he wouldn't have given up in my opinion.

I would love for the end of saw 11 to be that we flash fowards to the end of saw 7 and we see logan enter the bathroom and helps hoffman escape and that maybe they are freinds then once tobin bell doesnt want to do anymore films could have a film with logan and hoffman after Gordon i think it would also make the film jigsaw a little better.

In Saw the list will be very short with Eric’s son on top of it because he is obviously truly innocent, a teenager involved in this mess because of his father and for a kid he was pretty brave and showed to have a good moral compass. -The wife of the man who pretended to be a Jigsaw survivor (the lady didn't even know about it and ended up having one of the most horrible deaths in Saw). -Detective Straham and his partner (forgot her name) because they weren't corrupt and just wanted to solve the case and made more progress than the police in year's. Kerry (technically she is not the married one so…). -The main character from Spiral but I don't even remember his nam- - Dr. Lynn maybe but she was the cheating one (seeing how Jeff was her husband I can't blame her for looking for another person but she had a daughter with whom she could have spend that free time). - The kid from saw X, despite having like 10 he was very brave and didn't want to harm a man he talked like once even if it may have cost him his life. I don't really have in mind someone else in mind. Given that the all team Jigsaw are serial killers, the police department is corrupt and like 99% of the victims were garbage human beings it's difficult to find a morally good personage with more than one minute of screen time.

It would have made way more sense for her to be the protagonist because of her relationship with Eric. Perhaps it was because the actor wanted the least screen time possible and her being connected to Eric on a personal level would have involved at least one flashback with him in it.

yeah, makes me wonder too. I think his heart wanted to but he put his survival as a priority.... But, Saw 7 kind of reveals that he crawled out and then sort of passed out after heating his foot up, so he couldn't really go back could he, it was just a mess, he meets with John and just doesn't really question anything.
