We don't have a set time like they typically say. We just watch our cuts and when the wood gets a bit of a wave we know it's time to change. We probably go longer than we should but also depends what the wood is for. Construction wood we will go longer and change sooner with cherry and walnut. We've find the type of wood doesn't matter as much as how knotty the wood is. We just fold them up and zip tie them so they can't unspring and there is a local person we are going to go to that is an authorized woodmizer sharpener since woodmizer of Indy got out of the business of sharpening.
