In our traditional taxidermy, every method is good. for example, you can visit the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History (in the Republic of Moldova) there you can see many of the taxidermy of Franz Ostermann (one of the best European taxidermists of the 1800s). most of his mounts are of high quality ( especially the birds- hyper realistic)and are over 130 years old

Another stupid question: lt is obligatory to remove the wing muscles from a little bird like a teal duck? I know some persons that didn't do this, they say that is possible to dry it naturally or using formaline. What I can do?

Ok my friend 😄… the reason you are watching these videos is to move up in techniques and get familiar with modern taxidermy. When we do everything to last for a very long time , to do things correctly. .. formaldehyde is a chemical that has its place in this industry but not as a shortcut. Leaning any protein source in the mount will attract insects and it’s a big no.

It will be very hard without a wire wheel. You can use wire brush, scissors and maybe some pieces of used hack saw blade but take your time and go very slow. Otherwise you will rip a lot of holes.
