V&H aren't what they used to be. Their sound is lacking when it comes to the M-8 motors.

Do you have to re tune the bike since there isn't a CAT no more

You should always retune your bike if you change anything to the powertrain or intake/exhaust.

The cat was not removed, the resonator was removed. With a more free flowing muffler, a tune will make the bike run and perform better but if you do a tune you can kiss your warranty on drivetrain components (that includes the motor and gearbox) goodbye. Ask these guys what the increase in HP is and then you can work out if dumping your drivetrain warranty is worth it. The resonator is typically designed to eliminate sounds at a particular frequency which bounce off the inside of the device canceling each other to reduce noise and typically doesn't affect volume. It is typically not an issue on a bike to simply change out the muffler - most Harley owners do this to make the bike sound like a Harley and no tune is required and with no warranty issues.

It's not mandatory but your bike will definitely run better when you tune it. We suggest improving your air cleaner and cam setup at the same time and have it tuned all at once.
