Sawing beautiful Quilted maple log on the wood mizer WM1000

This is the most highly figured log I’ve sawed to date.

Is quilted maple a type of maple tree? Thank you is the "quilted" grain patterns more in the sapwood or heartwood?

I had a BC Rich Mockingbird that was a light colored Quilt. Gorgeous. AAA Flame is mt preference on every other guitar, especially Les Pauls, but that BC Rich was unreal. The blackest Ebony fretboard with the cloud inlays was also stunning. Always had Rosewood fretboards. Not as attractive.

I was incorrect. It wasn't Quilted, it was Spalted.

Beautiful log. Thanks for showing it to us. I had to stop watching 10 minutes into it though. Find a place to set the camera down and leave it still. Too much shaking. Just being honest!

Please stop moving your camera around so much. Pick a few spots to film and leave it. Consider using a tripod too.
